For all British Cycling fans, Team Sky's Russ Downing, Ben Swift, Gerraint Thomas and Peter Kennaugh are down as starters for the Lincoln Grand Prix on 9th May!! Great to see Team Sky racing in the UK!!

Great race with a 11 laps of the city including (finishing at the top on the 11th lap) the 15% cobbled climb of Michaelgate.

Get yourself there if you can!!

More info can be found at http://www.lincolngrandprix.org.uk/

Should be a great race this year wth the Endura team, Dan Fleeman (ex Cervelo), Ed Clancy (current Omnium World Champion and Olympic gold medalist), Steve Burke (Silver medal in Team Persuit), Andy Tennant (Silver medal in World Champs Team Persuit), Malcom Elliot, Chris Newton (olympic medalist) and Kristian House (current national champion) amongst others.

Definitively some quality riders there.

Clancy should test himself on the Continent, he's shown himself to be very talented and surely a future Sky rider.

No disrespect to K House or anybody riding pro in the UK, but it would be nice to see the champion's jersey on the Continent this year...

....as long as they redesign the jersey, which is unbelievably poor:

Victoria Pendelton looks OK in that kit. But yes the British champions jersey does look like an English track running shirt circa 1979 to be fair.

He's a strong rider but struggles on the climbs. Possible flatter classics rider but he will need to concentrate on the road which I can't see him doing until after 2012. But yeah, a good bet for a Sky ride at some point in the future.

Watch out for Ian Bibby of Motorpoint. Cyclocross rider who is making a decent fist of road racing this year. He can climb and also won the TT at the Cinturon Mallorca yesterday. Not the strongest of the fields but it shows some promise.
