Get a friend. Talking into a camera and telling yourself how great you wish you were does nothing for your self-esteem. Be the man you wish you were and you wont have to talk to yourself about yourself any longer. Durianrider at home

That's pretty funny :D

He lost me a long time ago with some of his posts...

A funnier response on here was another vegan asking him why he has "vegan" splashed all over his bike, clothes, whatnot.

To boot I've never really noticed WL taking an interest in a single poster, but he has with Mr. Durian on more than one occasion and it's not only pretty funny, but it speaks volumes.

I didn't even know one could "video troll" until WL enlightened us...

hey man, i think this is one of the best vids you've ever done, it's got everything in it, YOU!

I've been a raw vegan for three months now and I got to say its the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I used to be really unhappy and I thought that I had to listen to people and respect them, I was a regular guy and thought nothing of it. Now after changing my diet I've become a sanctimonious, condescending ***, my girlfriend is now really hot and regularly fellates me (she says I now taste of kiwifruit). I'm devastatingly attractive, more so than brad pit cos that ugly mother eats road kill, and I get to ride with pro cyclists who come to see me for training advice and to get my autograph.

The only problem that i have is trying to balance being so fit, attractive, popular, smart, thin, fast, strong, healthy, righteous and perfect while blogging, writing, trolling, making videos, video blogging and video trolling. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to be me! As someone who has now had to deal with being perfect for many years what advice can you offer me?

Peace out. Brothers in fruity perfection, Lance

Sir, you are a genius.

So lots of you dont like me but what did you think about the advice? Is it practical for you to eat more carb calories so you's get fitter, leaner and stronger?

Being a hater wont get your healthier and fitter but taking advice from people getting the results you desire will.

I went out training in the hills with BMC today. Learn something each time I go out with a pro tour team.

I think if you said it in that way to anyone in real life you would get slapped in the face. Telling a woman she could stand to lose 30 kilos, that's just vicious and uncalled for and would get you smacked anywhere around here. Really, learn some humility

Also the way you present your message makes it impossible to take you serious on any aspect

Having seen enough of his videos and such, durinariders message often gets overshadowed by the way he expresses it. You know .... I could call him all sorts of names for it ..... but who among us is so perfect? That's right, before you sling any arrows back, take a look in the mirror. He's no perfect diplomat(so what, who is?), but if one can put the fragile ego aside and listen , maybe you'd hear what he's saying. Throwing arrows back because of one's own ignorance only makes us look stupid.

One can only be insulted if one accepts what is said as at least partially true. . . otherwise it would go in one ear and out the other.

There is no "meat eating side" and no "vegan side" people. . . a"fatties" or "skinnies" or US vs. THEM . Those are the biggest lies known to all mankind. It does nothing but create division, which btw is truly impossible(but we foolishly try!). We're all human beings, and we're all more connected than you realize, like it or not.

You know I got some advice from my dad years ago that goes along the lines of "it's not always what's in the message so much as how it's delivered" and it holds pretty true today I'd say.

And there is the core if it.

You say that we, the "readers" should put our egos aside to maybe we'd hear what he's saying.

I say that if Durianrider were really interested in teaching/helping others, he should consider putting his EGO aside, and maybe we'd hear/read what he's saying...

But I seriously doubt he will as I seriously doubt his agenda honestly includes much more than self promotion and narcissism.

My $.02 anyways.

There's the rub floyr ...... if we're always waiting for the other to drop theirs before I drop mine . . . you get no where. This is where everyone gets stuck in their ego. What does one gain from this? Really? Do you feel good about yourself after battling with someone over words? There are no winners people.

"it's not always what's in the message so much as how it's delivered" Everyone knows that. However, how one interprets the delivery says everything about the person receiving it.

but it cant be sold as a good health choice if your educated.

reckon, there's the crux... (in bold) education
it's like history - you only hear what has actually been recorded, not necessarilly the truth...
whether you learn your nutritional "facts" from a youtube video, a McGraw Hill schoolbook or from your Pa, you have no real idea if it's actually correct information.
there used to be adverts claiming that your tennis game would improve if you smoked a certain brand of cigarette, and I'm sure many would have believed it at the time.
a simple fact is that the meat industry do not give a sh*t if their product is healthy or good for you. they'll sell their products to you any way they can to ensure their survival. take those ads a few years ago recommending women should eat more red meat because all of their daily problems were because they didn't get enough iron in their diet - no mention of the meat industry's involvememnt in the ads themselves, but they paid every penny for those ads and their airtime...

not many like the idea of change or something that goes against the years of programming they've received by their parents/teachers/ad men/mentors/way of life/etc...

Obviously NOT everyone knows that...or Durianrider's thoughts wouldn't be lost on so many users of these (and likely other) forums...

To the underlined, I guess what it says about me is that I don't like braggarts.

this is true, you shouldn't just accept info you're getting without being critical about it or knowing where it came from.
about the McGraw Hill book, it gives a lot of references and it has been checked by 100 Doctors in Biology before being published. In a case like that one can hardly argue about the 'correctness' of the info ...

I can say from my own experience of going from a animal protein dominate diet, to one of mostly fruit ...... the traditional nutritional stuff printed is not true. It's just the "facts" as they were presented to the public back in the 30's 50's 70's or whenever. Science as we know it has been a very narrow view of the world and how it works. They take that slice of knowledge and claim it as absolute truth. Ha ha ..... it's not funny.

Imagine an alien traveling to Texas in the USA during the summer. Real hot. So upon that experience they make the claim that all the world is that hot and inhospitable . . .and everyone should do this this and this to be healthy there. A Totally myopic view. . . and just not true. They have not seen the whole picture(the rest of the world). Just as we do not fully understand nutrition of the body. (yet erroneously presume to)

I wonder if people had their identity known and shown here would they be so quick to show their ignorance towards others, and ultimately themselves.

Would there even be a forum? I don't know. People are so used to mocking each other, which in truth mocks themselves ..... they become blind to it. It's been going on forever ... yet continues.

What would life be like without all the self imposed bullcrap? Turn off the bullcrap machine for one moment, and think about it.

Nobody has said that fruitboy's diet isn't a good choice for him or for anyone else. Nobody is doubting that vegetarian or vegan diets are healthy options. People just don't appreciate having a lifestyle thrust upon them in a manner that suggests their choices are unhealthy or ill-suited to them, while the messenger is Adonis himself. Your bolded text sums it up. And people are having a little fun with his arrogance and insecurities. Relax. We're throwing rotten fruit, not slinging arrows. Although I agree with the person who wrote that if fruitboy delivered his message in person in the same way he does via the internet, he'd probably get a shot to the face.

sorry, but the fact is that whether or not what Durianrider tries to say is worthewhile information, his method of delivery and over the top fundamentalism says a lot more about HIM than it does about us. He is an unfortunate combination of someone truly devoted to a belief system whilst having none of the charisma to be a public speaker.

I think if you look closer it is not the "haters" as he calls them that are chosing sides. Durianrider's entire delivery method projects the idea that Vegans are right and all else (ie "THEM") are wrong. This is the problem.

A little humility and willingness to contribute to a discussion would go down well. Instead we get ponitification.

Dont listen to the jealous haters on this forum Harley. They wouldnt know anything about what food is good for them some of the sick haters in this place don't even love Lance, the man who would give his right nut for a good set of melons.

I'm going to join you outside the front of the Hilton tomorrow morning and get some quality chamois sniffing time in with you. Perhaps if we hang around long enough on of the teams might give us a second hand pair of knicks. Maybe one of them might give us a few "banana calories";)

perhaps you and I could have been as good as them if we wernt pure of hart and devoted to spreading the good word of fruit in the world. Its ok tho, we can always tell people we are.

Hey Martin .... I agree he would be better served with some active discussion and not just he "here it is in your face" approach. I realize you guys are calling him on it .... and in your own particular ways. He appears to like it that way, because it's not changing.

I can't say I've ever really seen him interact with anyone online. . . . in the sense of genuine give and take. Maybe he does in person .... I hope so ..... or else that would make him a "little dictator". . . and impossible to be around.

By overstating his message . . . . he ends up defeating it for most. In his way he's fighting fire with fire. Madness with madness. In most humans it just creates more resistance though. Hence the replies seen here.

As the saying goes ..... You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Oh, I like this. Pun excellently intended, but works well even outside of "diet" based threads. :D

You mind if I borrow it later? Somehow it just works well in this the virtual world...

The person I was referring too in the video said to me afterwards, 'You know you dont BS people like other people do, you just say it straight up and I wanted to say thank you. Keep telling people what they need to hear vs what they want to hear..'

I give talks all over the globe. People that want to hear it straight up with no silly talk enjoy my style. I understand if it offends people thats why there is a warning at the start of my honest videos! I help people get results for themselves. There is enough personal trainers talking fluff out there. People are desiring the truth more and more.

Most people dont want real solutions. They want comforters. When I worked in the cycling industry people wanted to spend big bucks on crap they didnt really need. They didnt want to hear about improving their flexibility or losing weight off their gut vs their fork steerer. I accept that but it doesnt mean I aint gonna be honest with people.

Does that make sense? If not, perhaps increasing hydration may help. Here is a drink that is popular. ;)
