Look at me, I am a Vegan! Can I persuade you to become one too?

Not to be taken seriously but DR is entertaining no doubt about it.They could easily make a sit com about him, starring that guy who plays Rimmer on Red Dwarf.

That line just absolutely made my WEEK! And it's been a pretty good week for me too. Pure genius.

I thought he had gone vegetarian after the Beef incident

I thought he only stated he would no longer eat beef until this was resolved, he said nothing about chicken or fish. At least as far as I can recall

Yeah I remember the same for all things red meat. At the Tour of Beijing, the organizers made sure the riders didn't eat any red meat (which it is common to have Clenbuterol in red meat in China) so no rider could test positive for Clenbuterol and blame it on the food laid on by the host organizers.

wow and reading the comments on that thread is really encouraging me to take Vegans seriously.

Please keep an open mind. All vegans are not like that. Thank you.;)

I ride and race with pro's, people on UCI continental teams all the time in the summer months here, hell I was signing on to a local race just before Christmas and I was standing next to Michael Albasini, and I'm not vegan at all, so I don't see how being vegan means you are able to tag along with some pro teams. That I see anything wrong in tagging along with some pro teams in Adelaide, I would do the same and just sit at the back and let them have their ride.

# love the durian king shot! I will use that one!

# 200k yesterday with AG2R and today Friday 180km total and most with Team Lotto and a bit with the Green Edge womens team.

I thought if your vegan you couldnt ride into a 5kph headwind yet I can bang out pro training with the pro riders day after day? How come? I thought vegan diet makes one deficient and weak? I even matched Elminger up the last part of Gorge Rd after 150km riding yesterday. He even said the vegan lifestyle makes sense for fitness and health and he has cut back on his animal products. He did say riding an 11kg bamboo road bike was bad for performance though. I agree but Im strong enough to ride a heavy stead with the fastest in the world out training in the hills to show people that just perhaps vegans 'get enough protein' lol!

This is actually correct when we look at the CSIRO stats for water and land usage and look at the UN's stats for world hunger and where all the grain goes to feed livestock vs the starving.

Its also true in that being vegan reduces rates of obesity, heart disease and cancer therefore saving tax payers a few billion each year.

I believe we are all born equal but some of us get caught up in the status quo mindset of needless destruction and pillage of the earths resources. I mean 92% of Australia's land degradation is due to the meat and dairy industries according to the CSIRO and the production of dairy products is the BIGGEST use of water in Australia.

Just say'n.

I eat for performance, health, taste, ethics AND the environment.
