Wouldn't mind a serious early break.

Nowhere in the flat sprint, 2 minutes back yesterday with a small hill near the end, and we have yet to find out how he fared today, but clearly was not in the first chase group.

At the moment it looks like Sky will be in a position to push hard and Swift cope better than the other sprinters, but tomorrow is another day.
I doubt Matthews was dropped on that hill yesterday. Even Theo Bos wasn't.

Matthews can climb. Probably not as good as Swift did today, but that isn't necessary.

It would still seem very odd to find a way to drop on yesterday's stage but then make a serious commitment to fight for tomorrow's stage (and genuine commitment will be needed 100km before the finishline when it's a lot easier to give up if you're less fit, in an early season fitness race).

There will likely be other "sprinters" coming in with the main group. Depends on how hard the first two KOM's are raced imo. Looks open.

No point using this to show Swift's result here though.

He punctured with few km's to the end and was wayy to far back when the sprint began...

However it should be close if other sprinters make it, of course.

I was more serious about Bibby than about the other two.
He has somewhat similar results as JTL had in 2011, so why not? Although he's better in the hills and sprinting than pure climbing.

tiernan locke imo is just like bibby a real billy specialist and I think bibby is even more suitable to steep climbs. he is very light unlike tiernan locke, but I don;t think he has the engine of tiernan locke

Howard can do more than sprinting. I remember seeing him when he was riding the U23 six days of rotterdam years ago, and he was a one man team. A total machine obliterating the rest of the field (including 2 of the kreders). He has a big engine too

6days racing is the cycling equivalent of professional wrestling.

As did a number of other British based riders. In fact, some had better results than JTL that year. It was JTL's dramatic improvement during 2012 against 2011 and winning notable races that brought him to everyone's attention.
