ORDINE D'ARRIVO UFFICIOSO: 1 Diego Ulissi (Lampre Isd) km 151 in 3h43'04" a 40,616 km/h. 2 Rory Sutherland (Unitedhealthcare), 3 Danilo Di Luca (Acqua e Sapone), 4 Simone Ponzi (Astana), 5 Enrico Battaglin (Colnago Csf), 6 Moreno Moser (Liquigas Cannondale), 7 Bartosz Huzarski (Team NetApp), 8 Julian David Arredondo (Team Nippo) a 2", 9 Paul Voss (Endura Racing), 10 Gianluca Brambilla (Colnago Csf)

nice arredondo, his first race as a "pro" with team nippo. he was one of the big generation of antioquia in the team of uran and henao. they had a superteam then. although arredondo was one year younger than them

edit: this was their team then

Aguardiente Antioqueño-Lotería de Medellín

1. Rigoberto Urán Urán (Urrao)
2. Nicolás Castro Laverde (Col)
3. Julián David Arredondo (Ciudad Bolívar)

5. Diego Esteban Pemberty Tamayo (Yarumal)
6. Juan Pablo Villegas Cardona (Col)
7. Mauricio Pérez González (Medellín)

with ponzi and battaglin there i suspect the sprint wasn't exactly uphill?
With Sutherland in 2nd I assume it was some kind of false flat.

350m false flat, 250m downhill with a hairpin, 200m at 9 percent, left turn and final 200m at 6 percent

looks like a finish where positioning also counts

although the final 3km profile shows an easier finish with the last 200m rising only 3 meters

???

Why not. Ponzi and Battaglin are excellint uphill sprinters. You seriously think Battaglin and Ponzi are just sprinters for the flat then you missed a lot

Any news on Brändle? He's been decent this month and with the time he got on the TTT I was hoping he could get a lucky top 10 or more reasonably a top 15 in the final GC.

It wasn't a super difficult stage but he lost his jersey to Ulissi.

He doesn't have the form now. He was struggling to follow the peloton in Paris-Troyes so it's no surprise that he wasn't among the leaders today.

Big day today. I expect fireworks on the climb. I expect Androni to really attack it. De Luca should go well. If Voss or Camano for Endura can keep within 30 seconds then they have a great chance with the ITT tomorrow.

Looking forward to this one
