i saw the highlights.
the finish wasn't that hard, not a cauberg.ulissi by far the strongest,he attacked with 3 km to go hard and then he still smoked them all in the sprint
rujano mighty strong, attacking on the climbs,on the flat and pulling the peloton at high speed like tony martin.really can't see him losing il giro barring crashes/getting sick.
JTL at the back all day, possible empty gas tank
vino attacked but he still seems to me heavier than he should be,let's hope until giro he will reach a good form.

today androni and acqua e sapone will put this race on fire i'm sure,it's the most difficult stage of this race.

and what about arredondo?he makes pozzovivo look like magnus backstedt

JTL has a stomach bug and was throwing up yesterday and last night. He's pulled out of the race

this makes sense.because everyone from the peloton said the other day JTL will win this settimana and he looks in extraordinary shape

His teammate Rene Mandri wrote in his blog that this bug has infected several guys. Last ones were JTL and Den Windsor. Day before were Russel Downing, Mandri Himself and DS Alex Vega, who spent whole night throwing up.

It always amazes me how men who are as close to well oiled machines as men can be; have the immune systems of 3 month olds.

It simultaneously makes sense and doesn't make sense

I've read something about this. Top sportsmen live on a thin border with keeping their weight down etcetera and therefore have weaker immune systems

Exactly. And even a slight cold can mean a few percent difference in performance, which is significant in top sports.

Also, these guys have to literally stomach a huge amount of food, gels, liquids... the human body isn't made for that.

True that. In retrospect, it is quite impressive that JTL only lost 2:15 considering what little he probably had in his tank.

Also I imagine that consistent weather fluctuation from constantly traveling north and south throughout Europe in the late winter/early spring plays all sorts of games with the body

i underestimated jens heppner, god knows what monster team will be netapp in il giro if bartosz huzarski stayed on a 5 km@9% climb with di luca, serpa, pozzovivo, rujano and ulissi

the climb wasn't 9% average. gaps were very small at the top and androni had to do all the work cuz they were with 2. huzarski should have this in the bag though. he is a great itt rider

Not as good as Jan Barta who's 4th only 13 seconds down. Watch out for him.

I'd be disappointed if Voss can't hold on for a top 5 now.

I usually have difficulty on long tour rides with eating/drinking as well (food/gels etc). Hard to handle for a normal stomach

I'm afraid they got the parcours all wrong this year.
Another 15kms of TT tomorrow?
Nowhere near enough climbing.
The year of the clock.

Huzar is a good TT specialist. Hope he hangs on.

What a great week for Polish cycling it is. Three podium places in Cataluna, Huzarski. Also our biggest talent Kwiatkowski made a good ride today in E3 to help Boonen.

For big cycling nations it is nothing, but for us in Poland it is a great week, best sinca a log time.

Good luck tomorrow Bartek !!!!!!!!!
