You can't seem to make up your mind as to whether it was humor or a generalization. Are you having difficulty keeping up with your lies? As far as my being the typical American unable to understand any humor, well maybe, just maybe you're just not very good at this comedy thing and need to leave it to the professionals.

Interesting since our delusional friend has compared himself with Blackadder. It appears he was thinking of the first season.

Yowza ... Got a bit hot in here...

This in a nutshell encapsulizes what we've been wasting our time debating with....:(

A bit more than I bargained for today...

When really, all I wanted to see was some more Cav slagging and ended up with a history lesson, some political theory, the whiff of a nasty Michigan nappy and the realisation that a standard fence post is no match in size for so-and-so's penis.

Oh yeah, and that whomever whooped the chamois off a one legged cyclist in a two block commute on Strava...

And regarding the multiple postsI thought you were refering to similar posts, was not ware the same post came up three times - only noticed just now and it was some kind of glitch, not spam.

You posted the same response to three different posts, quoting the original post then pasting in the same piece of text. That was not a glitch. You are a liar.

Look I could never hope to emulate your eminence (how many thousands of posts?!) and, when if you were to look back at everything I've said, if you were honest with yourself (..ves) it's been mostly in good humour. But some of you cannot see the lighter side. I cannot help it if you are highly strung.

I think you need to get over it man.

And re the load of old guff about penis size etc with others weighing in, what a load of old baloney.

Here you are debating the minutiae of bike racing and who's better or best, and you bring that claptrap up! I mean what's bike racing about if it's not striving to be better than the next bloke/woman? For Pete's sake you need to get a life. Far from demonstrating that I am some kind of crank you've done a pretty good job of demonstrating you are not the full ticket.

Now that's quite funny Mongolian Torque, welcome!

Yes someone with a real life and associated issues to deal with. Now I wouldn't want to assume too much but would I be too far from the mark if I were to say the closest you'd come to a being a father was the palm of your hand?

You just continue to demonstrate you have no sense of humour.

I can't laugh because first of all it isn't funny and secondly I can't help but feel sorry for someone that has to lower themselves in such a way and then expect others to find humor in their sad, emotionally deprived state. How's that for humour? Why aren't you laughing?

I am - especially when I noticed we'd virtually agreed in the Cancellara thread!

Stop it, man. Just stop it.

When you next decide to write to race organisers instead of getting embroiled in personal attacks, can you write to the organisers of the Vuelta al País Vasco and ask them to make a more representative parcours of the terrain of the area?

Much appreciated.

Hi Libertine Seguros, 'personal attacks' that's a bit strong isn't it? After all I only came on here originally to put a matter right and ended up in this 'if you can't beat them join 'em state because as Mambo95 pointed out people on here argue for the sake of it. When people such as yourselves put forward structured arguments I'll come back accordingly - correct me if I'm wrong but I've not joked with you have I? But if someone is scathing about my opinion (which is not cranky) then why should I not respond in jest or in a similar manner?

Most of the humour I've used isn't too different from the sort of humour one gets from their mates when the boys get out for a drink but everbody takes it all far too seriously here. I mean I have actually been laughing at some of Brodeals comments but when you chuck something humerous back it just seems to go in a downhill spiral! I think that's the problem with this media.

But hey if you feel strongly about the parcours of The Tour of The Basque country why don't you write to them? Seriously only in the minds of some of the insecure people on here could it be deemed to be cranky. It's possibly the only way you could influence the route, so why not do it?

Your problem is there isn't anyone here that is one of your "mates" and thus there isn't that familiarity to be accustomed to distinguishing what you're classifying as a joke and what if said to someone that you didn't know in a bar could likely result in angry words or worse, you lying in a gutter or slumped to the ground beaten to a bloody pulp. The difference being that you feel safe with the anonymity of the internet and think you can say anything you please to anyone, no matter how vulgar and insulting without the fear of reprisal. You are a coward. What I normally refer to as a p**k a**
b***h. One who says what they want and when it offends someone lays the blame on the offended for not having a sense of humor.

So to make it clear to you, I am not one of your mates.

As I said - 'far too seriously'.

This must be the reason why Sacha Baron Cohen chooses to make his movies in America.

I'm not the only only saying what I want am I? And it's only when others having taken things to ridiculous levels that I've responded in a similar fashion. If I were a coward and worried about what people thought would I have posted some of the things I have, think about it.

You really putting a comparison to Sacha Baron Cohen?

That guy isn't about creating arguments. He's more about acting nice enough to let people hang themselves on the rope he gives them. Unless you're deliberately playing the role of a pro-Cavendish conspiracy theorist who keeps changing their story and implies anybody who disagrees with them is an idiot in order to deliberately incite anti-Cavendish feeling, I don't see where bringing Cohen into the discussion is relevant.

Your "joke" continued long past the point where any humour that there was in it had dissolved and you were simply beating a dead horse. Instead, because it obviously remained funny to you long after its comic potential had been wrung dry, when you eventually came clean and said actually, yes, you were joking and you don't really think Haussler was the guilty party and Cavendish the innocent victim... people don't believe you, because the "omg you really fell for that? Haha I was trolling you guys, seriously" response to being called out is quite a common one on the internet.

You are the only one speaking to me as if I'm one of your "mates".
What have you to fear but harsh words in return? You miss my point. What makes you think it's alright to say some of the things you said to complete strangers on this forum that I'm quite certain you wouldn't say to them in person...in a bar...after a few drinks? Do you honestly think that some of the insulting things that you've said in this forum would be taken as a joke by a complete stranger if you were speaking to them face to face?

I'm sure Cohen's movies are distributed internationally although I can't say that I have personally watched one all the way through. I'll leave it up to you to research how well his movies do worldwide.

I need to set the record straight again.

I want to clarify I never said I was joking about the Tour de Suisse crash, everything I said on that stands.

It was alleged by Angliru that I lacked credibility and yet I was someone who felt strongly enough about the incident to put pen to paper. And as I said if I'd seen Haussler do that to another rider I still have felt strongly enough to want to do something about it.

Because I have spoken about humour on here doesn't mean that I was joking about that.

I brought up the subject of Sacha Baren Cohen because of the way Americans take things so seriously when humour does come into the equation.

As far as insults go there have been a few flying in my direction, but I take them in good humour and have ended up trading them.

I've got nothing against any of you I'm sure you are all nice guys. But I think it's all abit cliquey - someone relatively new and without thousands of posts comes on and you ignore what they are saying or make unfounded criticisms.

If I was a coward Angliru, would I have put my correspondence on here, knowing that some of you would take the pee? And look at Brodeal getting off on god knows what. And regarding those multiple posts Brodeal they were all to the same quote/poster - it was some kind of mistake.

I haven't lied about anything, regarding the American/Farrar comment its 50% tongue in cheek/50% serious.

I think its a complete shame to be honest, I'd come on hoping I could point out something that hadn't been seen/noticed and would make you think a bit.

Hmsgenoa's crediblity.

Would it be out of line to start a "'The Mark Cavendish Depreciation Thread' Depreciation Thread"?
