Would be great to see, I think the public will always warm more to an athlete out there busting his *** as opposed to fat cat bureaucrats.

That doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence in the independence of the "Independent Commission"
true.

but mcquaid needs not worry.
he has a whole set of oneliners he used for floyd which he can repeat one-on-one when asked about Lance.

"He has already proven to be a liar and continues to be a liar,” said McQuaid. “There is no truth in it, absolutely no truth in it."

Ok, I haven't been following this story anywhere near as closely as most of you guys here, so I have a couple of questions.

Why does this confession seem linked to officials lifting Lance's Olympic ban?

I mean, the guy is 41 years old, why would he care about an Olympic ban, or is there an angle/issue I'm missing regarding this?

Secondly, any chance Ochowitz will be implicated during this confession process?

I haven't heard his name mentioned very much at all, and he had to have knowledge of all of this stuff.

What an irony - remember, just a while ago the mighty Pat's mafia was planning a general doping amnesty.

Btw, why did our lovely Uniballer suddenly crack - to avoid jailtime, as a collaborating offender?

Haha and he's planning to join Floyd as a witness in the Qui Tam lawsuit. The knives will be out in the Tailwind camp to get Armstrong now.
I think that's a very accurat assessment. This is when these affairs always become the most interesting and fun to watch. When the snakes begin to bite each other, it's time to order another bottle of wine and sit back for Act II.

I'm shocked he's going to throw Weisel under the bus. Feds must be applying some seriously hot coals.
YUP. Continuing conspiracy right up to last week. Conspiracy, RICO, perjury, fraud, witness intimidation, suborning perjury.........Lot's of potential prison time to make him a new kind of motivational speaker.

indeed.:)

yet, somewhere i feel and fear phat and heinous will step out of the ring with a blue eye at most. perhaps a suspension from IOC duties, or an official warning. perhaps phat resigns or doesn't get re-elected. but anything else?
Or is Lance really gonna pull a rabit out of his hat? Is he going for the knock out in a slick one-two with Bruyneel?

There may be an Italian prosecutor in Paddy and Dopey's future. I'll wager Johan cuts a deal and joins Armstrong sinking the UCI.

Rioja or Ribera del Duero, which do you prefer for the snake-fight?

A Gran Riserva would be in order for this one, me thinks:D

Velonews? Really? That former shining beacon is now just a pitiful rag. Anyone with any testicular fortitude left that sinking ship (or was tossed overboard) long ago. They only run anything of substance after the other sites/mags have already covered the topic and shown that the waters are safe.

They already have this story with a nice summary up on their site...

Cava would be more appropriate, what with it being as Catalan as Girona.

...and not as much as Artur Mas.....

Yes, agree. We start with a Cava, then as we head west into the sunset, a Rioja (or three), wipe out with a Ribera de Duero, some Porto... hic... hic....

In order:
-It's not an "Olympic" ban. It's a ban from competing at any events that are IOC/WADA sanctioned. So, the guy can do independent events, but there's no money/glory for Wonderboy at those events. He needs the WADA sanctioned athletic events to feed his ego.

-At 41 now????, and possibly 50 when he could actually do a WADA sanctioned event, he'll be back. He can't stay away. He'll likely dope too.

Och is on the longer list along with most of the money in American cycling including doper Chris Carmichael, alleged doping organizer Thom Wiesel and a number of other scumbags over at CSE/Tailwind. Will he get dragged into it? He should.

Funny.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/uci-reacts-to-reports-that-armstrong-could-testify-against-officials

"If these reports are true, we would strongly urge Lance Armstrong to testify to the Independent Commission established to investigate the allegations made against the UCI in the recent USADA reasoned decision on Lance Armstrong and the United States Postal Service (USPS) team."

It is funny.

It is also underscores, again, that when there is an official route to take with respect to announcing, discussing, confessing, or otherwise discussing the topic of doping in cycling, Lance has thus far been consistent.

Oprah: yes.

Anything approaching admission to the authorities or accepting full responsibility: no.

He's never been one to take responsibility for anything.

He's doing the very thing he derided Tyler for but of course this is Lance so it's ok.

Regardless if he blows up the UCI I won't stop him. But Floyd and Tyler drew him to this point. Now he's trying to beat them at their game.

He's so unoriginal.

I've always trusted Armstrong. I knew he was telling the truth when he said he would co-operate with the USADA investigation. :)

Going on Oprah will lift his suspension. Either Oprah will do it herself, she is now over CAS, or the American people will be so outraged by what he tells them about Tygart and USADA that they will rise and bring down the evil tyrant. From February 1 he will again be allowed to do sanctioned triathlons and marathons, and his big goal is the 2016 Olympics triathlon in Rio de Janeiro.

Judge Judy will preside over the case at CAS. Oprah will submit on behalf of Lance.

Armstrong plans to do the bobsled at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Wiggins joins Lance in throwing Pat under the US/UK Postal bus (do they discuss tactics together?)

Comments to Sky Italia (translated by journo):

''I'm worried for the condition in which is the cycling after this scandal, dragged down by people like UCI's president Pat McQuaid"

"Even if Armstrong would be stripped of the 7 Tours, it's the past. The present is important. What will be the impact on us?"

"Maybe in 1 week we'll be w/out any president. I care about consequences. We are trying to maintain credibility by what we are doing".

I also want to see Dr Ferrari finally get some credit. That man should have lost his medical licence for malpractice years ago. If you ask me he should be slotted in somewhere between Thom Weasel and Chris Comical in the pecking order.

If this comment is true (can someone find a link????), could a positive test surface real quickly? Quick retribution could be plausible for breaking omerta and attempting to take down one of the dons.

Wow, I wouldn't want to be Pat or Brad right now.
