Gilbert targets Liege. It's little more than Tour prep for Andy Schleck. In 2009 that was different.

See what Bruyneel has to say about the Ardennes classics.

Second paragraph...

I don't give a sh+t about bruyneel, just like i don't give a sh+t about el trollero so i won't respond to his post.

Fact is, andy has much more talent than gilbert, just like contador, cav, canc.
Unlike canc and cav, andy's (and contador's) characteristics allows him to be able to win liege without luck being the dominant factor (the dominant factor is talent), so if he is "on", he can win that race any year.

Frank has an handy sprint. Sure he can't beat Rodriguez-type but he stand a chance against a guy like Evans I think. About Andy, I agree we shouldn't underestimate him. In fact he often rides without much tactical sense but he can pull of great ride (Liege, Galibier,...). He's good enough to win hilly courses on the worlds.

Yeah, he won every classic with luck this year!

Lol, just admit you hate Gilbert and leave it at that, you're making a complete fool of your self.

Luck had little to do with Gilbert's victories at hilly classics.

Fact is, Andy only won one decent race in his entire career. Because in case you didn't notice, Gilbert dropped Andy at the Saint Nicholas this year. I bet he was so lucky for Andy to have dropped!

Considering all these guys have much more talent they sure get beaten a lot by him

It's easy to dominate a race if your only serious competitor is Tom Boonen who has had a lot of bad luck past 2 years.

what a SPOS.
for a moment i believed that you were saying something like conti + evens against andy, or (the one that makes(can) sense) landy+evens against conti... but no, you really said that.

oh wait, you are a australian poster with an historic of delusional posts. ok.

Hahaha, this has got to be your worst trolling attempt ever!! Did you even read what the guy wrote? :D

He won that partly due to a really strong team (I say partly). At the Worlds he won't have a strong team, just Fränk.

Bruyneel is getting them ready for ITT WRR ... don't need a team there ... you heard it here first!

That's uphill

And we both know Contador didn't contest the sprint. Not that beating Contador in a sprint is an achievement or something.

Second paragraph...

I think Hollywood should hire Brunyeel to study what bad guys are really like.

he seems to be a **** for being **** sake. Reminds me of Eric Bishoff only Bruyneel is real.

The points you make are all valid until the last one.

Its unfair to mock Cancellara because his opponents in cobbled classics are a different type of rider, but if you want to go down that road then we can point to the fact that dominates the likes of Schleck, Evans, Valverde in his classics, while Gilbert merely scrapes past them by comparison in his.

I find it rather ironic that one of the best one day racers in the world is riding for a DS who doesn't give a sh*t about classics. I don't understand why Cancellara is so willing to help the Schlecks, what did they ever do for him in a race? Besides making sure he has no team support at all of course ;)

What i said was for next year's TDF
ANDY
needs
CONTADOR
to be at the race for him to win against Evans ( barring crashes ).
Otherwise there is no way in hell Andy will win as his attacks ( stage 18 Galibier this year ) were slowly reeled in by Evans. To win the TDF Evans needs to be cracked otherwise he is capable of pulling off what he did this year ( stage 18 Galibier ). And the only way EVANS CAN BE CRACKED IS FOR CONTADOR TO RIDE THE TDF, and ANDY TO BE ABLE TO GO WITH Contador's ATTACKS.

That then invokes a whole new problem for Andy. HOW TO CRACK CONTADOR???

In my original post i then said either way Andy is screwed ( for his chance to win the TDF ) next year.

I do not think anywhere in my original post i said CONTADOR Needed ANDY.

It is Vice-Versa as Andy needs Contador. The 2 of them will work together in the sense they shall distance the others then attack each other.

On a whole new point, why would Contador feel he has to attack like crazy to gain time on Evans on the Mountains, when he has a great ITT as well ( an out of form Contador finished 3rd at Grenoble ). I'm sure he only has to make a FEW devasting attacks up the mountains to cement his lead.
Maybe for some reason he feels Evans is better than him in the ITT still ( which we do have to consider in 09 Evans was in no form whatsoever ) but even so i'm pretty sure he should be confident of at least matching Evans. I just don't get why he is so nervous but that makes me think the route is suited more to Evans ( if only because Contador believes the ITT km shall work in Evans' favour )

My last point was a tongue in cheek because c&cfan always calls Phil's competition weak.

One of the Schlecks has to race the '12 Giro to win, for Frank it may be his only chance to win a GT, for Andy it is the GT that suits him best. Both Andy and Frank are more consistent climbers than any of the likely contenders and the lack of ITT km's only works in their favour.

Problem is that we all know that the Hog has an unhealthy obsession with the Tour unless it's the final day and one of his riders is in the leaders jersey

Will Bruyneel risk sacrificing his main Tour contender or his domestique for a "lesser" (in The Hog's eyes) GT win?

The worst part for Shleck is that Contador finished 4th and was booed before the start of the Tour and still managed to win the hearts of everyone. Even when Shleck finished ahead of Alberto still “beat” him.
