Eamon Dunphy was also questioning here at the time.

Regarding the similarity of Froome and Smith's rise, it has to be said in the case of Smith's like MartinV just said that her rise came in her middle 20's which is usually well past their sell by date in most swimming terms. The link with her husband would also be a different one in compared to Leinders. Michelle continued to work him throughout the years while Leinders was ditched last year in the process. If Sky continued to work with him then I'm not so sure Walsh would be painting them in the same light that we see him doing currently.

Gary O'Toole said he came across her back then after not seeing her a lengthy period and immediately looking at her drastic change of physique, told her straight to her face it wasn't natural and to be very careful.

So we have a swimmer who peaked late with a big change in physique?

Froome same, late for showing GT ability and now skinny as a rake.

Remember this argument is about Froome showing GT ability late is because he is beating the times of dopers, I guess a guy with this kind of ability would've been showing it before Bilharzia as a junior. Kelly showed it as a junior on crap equipment winning races. LeMond showed it as a junior.

And Benotti is conveniently overlooking that Smiths rise was when she hooked up with Erik de Bruin who himself had been banned.

And Maserati is forgetting that Sky hired a doping doctor the time Froome started to rise.

Damn, and as soon as they got rid of Leinders Froome went back to the previous level - I did forget that, thanks.

I guess when Leinders left he took all his methods and notes with him

Leontien was presented with the Monique Knol quotes about a rider who was always less than Knol and suddenly was soooo much better, and wearing armcoates no matter what the weather was/needle marks. Leontien had no idea who Knol was referring to, it looked to me she was lying through her teeth. Of course Knol was pointing at van Moorsel when she was interviewed.
So, will Knol be returning her Rainbow Jersey for the TTT
she won with van Moorsel? Or was van Moorsel not doping
at that time?

Van Morsel, just pipped Barry's wife at Athens 2004 when she certainly underwent a dramatic improvement in form for Athens 2004. And to think all those experts at BC/Sky, the ones who time everything and can sort out all those marginal gains, they were totally taken aback that Michael Barry, best pal of Lance and hubster of the girl who could give Leontin a run for her money, could ever have been on the dope.

On learning of Barry's confession to USADA - Sir David - We did due diligence I am totally shocked.

Well I am sure there is someone out there who would believe him.

Not necessarily untrue. He forgot to add that a massive amount of doping will allow you to train harder and recover faster as you would without doping.

Dopers and doper apologists always use these half truths

Turned it off at that point.

Also, they all are like "95% doped so it was all fair". Like the 5% clean ones didn't matter. Not to mention that it means that 95% of the people that deserved to be there because they had the talent and the willingness to play fair weren't even riding.

This thread has a lot of good links to European coverage of the race/doping. I'm an English speaking American, so it's hard to find some of these other sources. Any other reactions after today's stage from around the globe? Interesting that CN used one of those coded phrases "league of his own"... in one of their articles...haven't really seen that yet this year.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/froome-in-a-league-of-his-own-on-mont-ventoux

Oh, and Froome saying "I didn't think I'd win, blah blah Quintana..." was laughable.

I read on Inner Ring’s twitter page that he and another rider had to be given oxygen.
Yes. The other rider was Chris Froome. I think Froomey
said that was the first time he had ever needed oxygen
after a stage. Not surprising after such an epic ride.

Something funny was Scott Mcgrory on SBS in Australia. After Ventoux his co presenter asked the doping question about Froome. His response was that Froome attacked without restraint, and if he was doping surely he'd hold back a little. Interesting answer.

Not if he was certain he wouldn't get caught.
