Ban for an unwarranted/ridiculous amount of time. I'm guessing he turned his back on some seriously unfair treatment and now he's probably got much more time to run his bike shop these days. Those of us still here are the poorer for it.

Chewie will probably be on the Supreme Court before his ban is over.

Dr Mas runs a bike shop?? Wow, guess those bikes get a real good servicing!

I agree. Hugh, Chewie were fun in our politics thread and the clinic. Shame Hugh decided not to come back. I think he was totally disgusted with what had happened.
Chewie will prob not return either considering the length of the bannination.

But that has been the case on here for a while, the reason I had a voluntay sabbtical after my OTT ban by a mod who subsequently in this thread made disingenuous comments about me deleting parts of posts as a tactic when it was self-moderation in fact.

Thanks for the support. I'm not sure why I was banned with no warning and have yet to receive a response as to the reason for the ban. It can't be for off topic posts as I only responded to posts that were replies to my on topic posting. There various off topic posts that were made are still there so the moderator hasn't really moderated.

I'm flagging any off topic posts just to help irondan as I think he;s struggling with the responsibility at the moment.

I never got told why I was banned in the first place and then got banned for asking a question and for using the flag post feature.

How can people get banned for going off topic and also for flagging posts that are off topic?

I have heard a rumour that at least one of the moderator team is close to one of the pro teams that takes a bit of flack on this forum. Having seen who has been getting banned, it doesn't take a genius to work out who.

Alas, I did see Irondan on the dance floor later in the evening, strutting to Saturday Night Fever. I didn’t see any Rapha kit, not even knee high Wiggo socks.

I reported a post that said Sharapova should be punished by spending fifteen minutes in the poster's bedroom, which had been quoted by the likes of blackcat who said 'l'm the only one allowed to make blue jokes'. I thought it was disgusting, joking about raping her as punishment for failing a drugs test, truly despicable. I reacted as such, reporting it and asking why a post like that is allowed and the post I wrote on he Shane Sutton thread ('haha loving this thread') was deleted, then also complained on the thread saying posts like this make the clinic a cesspit.

But what was more despicable was the agressive, bullying PM I got from Irondan in response. I had posted maybe three times in six months, yet I was accused of continually 'spreading discontent' and how if I didn't like reading things like that I should just go away. He finished this diatribe by, with great finality, NOT to reply. Of course I did; I told exactly where to go and exactly what I thought of him, knowing full well it would earn a perma-ban. I can't access the PM I got from him now of course, I dare him to post it here. He won't of course, the mods can do what they like, say what they like and answer to no-one.

So for the brief time this will be up before it is deleted, and before this account is banned too, I'll say this Irondan is an absolute disgrace, in no way should he be a mod, and his style of moderating only makes these forums more of a joke.

Oh and the only reason I signed back up was in the hope I might be able to complain to Susan or Daniel about his behaviour, but I can't PM so may as well use here to explain what I consider to be a gross injustice. Of course I have no power and Irondan does, so he will just shut me up again, offer no explanation and continue to moderate according to his biased agenda.

Yeah, I saw that exchange. And for as long as this remains here, let me just say you are way off base. The poster in that exchange said Sharapova should be punished by having to spend fifteen minutes in his bedroom. YOU were the one who brought rape into it. Not him, not someone else, but you. YOU inferred the suggestion of rape. Just because that's where your head evidently is doesn't mean everyone else thinks that way. So if you're banned because of all this, it's on you and no one else.

Agree with this. The moderation of the forum has really declined. Threads are allowed to deteriorate and go off topic at will yet no attempt is made to sort them out. I flagged a heap of off topic posts and got banned for doing so. On a previous occasion I got banned yet didn't get told the reason why and was threatened by the mod when I asked for a reason.

The forums are being run like a police state. If your face fits, you can post nonsense regardless and if you question anything you get banned.

The forums, especially the clinic ned to be the go-to place for many within the industry to pass on what they knew. With the lack of a decent governing body and adequate anti-doping, this was the place people could say what they knew in the hope that someone would take notice.

This is no longer the case and cycling will be worse off for it.
