Ray had some good posts in the Clinic when he was new. I didn't really follow him after that, though i do remember he was a passionate supporter of 9-11 conspiracy theories.
But whatever Ray said or believed in, I don't think any of that suffices to call him mentally disturbed.
There are plenty people who believe in God and/or Jesus, despite there being preciously little evidence for the existence of either God or Jesus. Furthermore, there are plenty of people who *speak* to God and/or Jesus, again, in the total absence of any tangible evidence of their existence.
Are all those people mentally disturbed? Not in my book.

If someone talks to god that's ok, it's called faith, and his existence hasn't been proven yet, nor the opposite.
However, if someone says that god talks to him, then that someone is psychotic.

Anyway, there are worse fanboys than ray, even Contador ones.

Thanks. :p

I don't mean to derail the thread, but I can't resist. It's a pretty well known fact of history that Jesus existed. You might disagree with what people say he was, but he is an actual figure in history.

You say that like it's fact, it is still open for debate that Jesus was an actual historical figure unless of course we are talking about the many Jesus's that have cycled :D

So is believing in God any more or less ridiculous than believing the twin towers were brought down by the US government? Some would claim there is more evidence to support the latter than to support the former. I personally would say both are implausible, though the latter is a tadbit less implausible than the former.

I could just start making stuff up right here right now and say 'it hasn't been proven yet, nor the opposite'. It's why discussions about religion are pointless.
That said, from a common sense pov, there is enough evidence to discard the existence of God.
But religion is insensitive to common sense.

If someone believes that a greater being created the universe and it looks like a man and is called God, all is good. If someone believes that a greater being created the universe, looks like a giant purple alien and can only be communicated with while wearing a giant tinfoil hat...

I'm sure you catch my drift.

Wantington jr is a sockpuppet account of the banned member ray j willings.

Both accounts are now perma banned.

And this is why I don't get sockpuppets. Seriously... it's been five days. Surely he wasn't suffering from accute forum-withdrawals yet...

Wrong. Common sense means nothing to logic. Just because you don't believe in god, you can't prove he doesn't exist. Simply because there's no evidence of that. Or, at least, humanity still doesn't know, or can't interpret yet the evidence, because they lack the capacity and technology to do it.
Having said that, religion knows it and take advantage of that.

I don't believe in god either, but as a realistic guy, I believe the world (and the universe, for that matter) is ruled by a variety of laws and structures. Some of them we know, some of them we don't know, which is why there are several things we can think of and, while we can't yet prove they're true, we must try to prove they're false.

About god again, we can't prove his existence, but we can't yet prove he doesn't exist, so we're still in a limbo. There are not simply enough evidence to discard any theory related to god's existence.

I said no where in my post about missing someone. I was giving him some advice about how easy his sockpuppet was to identify. So try not to place meaning on what I posted that was not there.

Sorry to interrupt, but I'm going to go off topic and ask a question about the "police stories" thread.
Before I do so, I want to stress that I'm not angry, nor am I about to go "nuclear.' I don't think there is a conspiracy to silence me, nor am I going to lose sleep over my post that was deleted.
I'm just genuinely curious to know why the post I submitted that contained a video link of a Dallas cop who pumped multiple gun shots into a guy holding a rock was deleted.

That should be ban number 25 or something for Ryo. Mind-boggling.

Edit: That might have been the vilest thread we've had in a while. Disgraceful to say the least. Just, wow.

It was really bringing out the worst in people (not Ryo mind, his true self is always evident). Well done closing it.

So, I have a doubt:
Is it ok to insult people here?
I know if you're a fan of Contador you get that little extra protection because of some reason I really don't have the smarts to understand, but there are some obnoxious guys over here (such as Miburo) that don't know how to take other people's opinions respectfully without insulting. Whether that's because Trump is the worst candidate in the last 100 years, or if Contador dropped like a stone, or whatever, but is it ok to insult other people then?

I'm asking this, because this is supposed to be a forum where people should respect each other and moderators/administrators should do their job coherently and, if some user has a doubt, they should answer them, but what I see is obnoxious guys like Miburo and Ryo (Ryo is a way bigger case) doing crap after crap and still being in this forum, while others do the same and get banned way longer.

Since I'm not an hypocrite guy and I say what I think, seeing that I'm not getting answered in PMs, I ask here: is this what being biased looks like, or is there any other explanation I don't have the smarts to get?

Ngl though Kennaugh doesn't seem like a particularly nice guy.

But yeah, talking about people's intelligence in relation to niceness was really harsh, and so was calling them retards.

Not just harsh, but - ironically enough - incredibly stupid. IQ is an exceptionally blunt tool, which is utterly meaningless out of context, and isn't an especially good proxy for 'intelligence' (whatever in God's name that is) to begin with. Ryo and Netserk's comments would have been unacceptable if they knew Porte's IQ, but the fact that they decided to judge someone in such harsh and loaded terms based on one random number floating around in the ether, likely reported by someone who didn't know Porte's real IQ either, was really really unacceptable. Disgraceful is the word.

At least Netserk is generally a good person + 99% of his posts are quality.

The other one, though, I've given up on words to describe him.

This is a thread where we discuss bans of posters. It is not allowed to insult posters in this thread, or in any other thread on this forum.
