Sasy it all about the heat ...

Jasper Philipsen fainted after the finish and has been taken to the hospital.
Ash Moolman-Pasio collapsed outside the media area as well. That (and Sweeny) shows that there's more to it than northern Europeans who've struggled to acclimatise. At least the medics are on-hand sooner after Sunday's farce anyway.

Hope for Dumoulin to win todays non-event. At least he is a proper cyclist, the rest bar Jungels are just one-trick ponies, at best.

Disgraceful event this Worlds, that Merckx guy is a creep.

There are alot of proper cyclist (whatever that means) in the race ....Kiryenkia for instances. rouler on the flat , puller of trains for SKY , etc .Tony Martin strong on the cobbles, Rohan Dennis can climb as seen in TDU ,....I could go on and on

No problem that you want Dumoulin to win but at least get some valid reasons that make sense rather than some nonsense bias.

P.S. Its a specialist event not an all rounder s ride ...

Yeah, it was just an idiosyncratic comment, I'll admit that. It is hard to argue about these things.
To me these are all defensive riders. Kirienka is a defensive breakaway killer, Tony Martin wastes his talent on the same (he could have been an great cobbles rider), Rohan Dennis merely defends ITT leads, like Indurain. No, ITT specialists are not my favorite kind of riders in the peloton. The only specialist riders I like are climbers, really. And no, there's no real "argument" for that either.

So, in summary, you want Dumoulin to win because you like him...? ;)

Poor Jasper. But it seems he's okay. He went beyond his limit after his crash on the first traffic circle, was too greedy and then hyper ventilating, hallucinating. He felt guilty towards his family, friends and the federation, ... "Away from the sun".The Belgian team doc had to carry him into the boxes and cooled him down with water so that his body temperature was immediately back in order. His salt percentage is perfect and he wasn't withered. (all according to the Belang van Limburg)

Ruben Apers who had a great 5th place did not have to complain from the heat because he raced with 3°C less than Jasper.

Jasper is a real talent from Limburg. I came across his name several times in the newspapers. :)

I thought Mullen had serious potential for a medal in this event in years to come. It has come as a surprise this soon to see him in with this chance.
