Peak Landa may be a better climber than Contador, but better even than Froome? I doubt it
But it's an intriguing scenario.

This makes the Giro much less interesting and I hate to say that I am very disappointed with him: this looks like medical stuff 100%.

Based on what exactly?

Based on the way he explodes after a rest day. Man, I am a big Landa fan, but this is so obvious it's just sad.
P.D: Sorry for talking Clinic stuff.

When he was being interviewed by Danish television before the stage he didn't show any signs of feeling unwell.
So... did he 1) want to honour the by continue fighting for as long as he could, 2) not want the possibility of any rumours spreading, leading other teams to potentially attack him?
If so... pretty cool.![]()

Riders make decision based on big bucks first, guess one has to eat. But in terms of long term strategic goals, Sky was really the wrong place to go. Nibs made the wrong choice as well. Landa should have gone under the wings of an experience DS or GC guy or a team that cares about other GCs (giro or Vuelta), not send team B or C to these events.
I had a feeling Sky's goal was always for Landa to replace Porte as super domestique in TDF for Froome.
An illness to sentence he's overated...ok. Victories in queen stages of Giro and Vuelta , and a third place in a GT....are nothing or so. ehehejilbiker said:Is Landa overated? or still has a lot to learn? Its a tough one to judge. You can't say Sky didn't care about this Giro. Their original Giro team at the start of February was excellent and they even sent Roche and Nieve to the Giro instead of resting them for the Tour to make sure Landa had a decent team.
