Last year was a headwind in good conditions, if its not headwind a rainy and pretty bad conditions like today, its obviously different. But in general, its too easy, despite its length. I mean most decent to good cyclists could probably follow the field to the capos.

Weather might effect today though right? I havent seen any pictures yet but 300km in rain and cold is gonna take some energy away from many riders.

Someone like Nibali might try something in the descent also. Might be tricky if road gets slippery.

I think they showed the power profile of Gerran's win in 2012 or something, and the average wattage was pretty low.

Well, these guys probably aren't simply good enough then. I think the balance between bunch sprints and attackers winning has been pretty good in recent years.
