If I was the UAE ds today I would get your team in front on the Poggio but drop the pace after the first corners. Accelerate only right after the corners and drop the pace. In the last part let Pogi attack out of a corner. I think that’s better for him to get a gap, maybe with Wellens in 2nd position.

Don’t know if the fatigue will be way less like this but these accelerations from a slower pace can also hurt. But then you have Mathieu who would love this. I’m just thinking out of the box for a new UAE tactic.

Or going hard like last year and if you can’t drop them immediately just get over the top with a group and try to do a Stuyven in the right moment.

Basically times under 10 minutes are already rare. I guess they're expected to become normal because riders are getting faster and because of Pogacar, but in 2022 they did 9:30, there were only 30 guys left and they had a really big tailwind that year.

I don't see how the record gets broken unless Pogacar attacks solo, in which case I doubt he takes enough time to take the win.
