Trek with Mosca leads the peloton. Alpecin with Dillier contributes too. No one else is up there ready to pull.

The interesting thing about Milano-Sanremo is that several types of rider can win. Here's an overview of the favorites with their specialty:

  • Best climber: Pogacar
  • Best uphill puncher: Van der Poel
  • Best flat puncher: Ganna
  • Best descenders: Mohoric, Pidcock
  • Best sprinters who can climb: Pedersen, Laporte
  • Best pure sprinters: Philipsen, Kooij, Milan

Seems like FDJ's Germani was the problem ... yeah, go work that one out! :)

Cause-and-effect, or just a coincidence?

What about best climber who can sprint? Or is that Pogacar too?
