How many seconds would Ala or vdPoel need on top of Poggio in order to remain ahead of a Wout van Aert in full pursuit? It is 5,5 km to go of which 2,2 are flat. I think 15 - 20 seconds. The fact that last year Ala could not remain in front during the descend while he is considered (at least by me) as one of the best descenders in the peloton says something about Wout's possibilities imho.

I think Wout will win today in a sprint. But my favorite scenario is one of the big three arriving solo.

I'm sort of in between; Eurosport is on, but in the background, and I'm mostly just listening.

occasionally checking this thread just in case there’s been a freak occurrence of something mildly interesting but nothing short of echelons would make me start actually watching this for hours yet

Ala messed up the descent last year, seemed to have a problem with his chain. Normally he's a great descender and would have been expected to stay in front.

He just did it again! (before correcting himself in a weird way).

I was just about to get angry. Like, just because there are more Danish WorldTour riders than Norwegians, Swede, and Finn combined doesn't mean those commentators have to go and give Norway our riders!
