I banned butterhead. And have posted the reason in the suspension thread. Sorry it took me an hour, I had to do some work at work.

I also deleted all his posts because of his attitude and comments towards me...he brought this and removal of his CN "persona" on his own (butter)head through his vile obnoxious comments and attitude in PM exchange.

I don't have to put up with shit like that, if any of you want to play that card there is only going to be one result.

EDIT: looking back at my inbox I have noticed (s)he did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I can remember at the time being really annoyed but said what the hey and I let it slide

I think you should look beyond the effect of those posts on you and whether or not what he has posted in the threads substantiates a banning.

no he shouldn't. The rules are in place everywhere in the forum, not just in the threads, but also in the PMs, in the visitor messages and so on.
The **** s/he wrote was not acceptable, no matter where s/he wrote it.

I understand that. But, there should be a greater tolerance to inappropriate language in PMs as they don't, if kept private, offend the masses which is the higher interest to protect but only the individual mod if indeed the mod is offended to begin with. This isn't saying that where it is clearly highly distasteful language used that any reasonable person would find offensive it isn't worthy of a penalty. It just allows for greater discretion to apply a punishment I suppose. And as these PMs are likely to remain concealed, I guess we will never know what actual words were used...

Put it this way. butterhead is a sockpuppet of xrayvision.... Who was a sockpuppet of fidolix ....

butterhead wasn't banninated as a sockpuppet, there is a trend though.

Can a mod please move the Mig development stuff to its own thread? Or start a new thread if the point is to compare Froome to Mig?

When I was looking at xrayvision's posts and though of the bans for insulting via PM, I thought - maybe they're all sockpuppets of Fidolix? Turns out I was right
