I certainly don't blame you. Now you are among the peasants, and we welcome you.

Damn! I alway thought of Barrus as "The Hammer."
Cross the line and...well this really says it all:

Member Suspensions Thread
Post count:

Barrus 42
Susan Westemeyer 19
Martin318is 15
Francois the Postman 13
RDV4ROUBAIX 1
180mmCrank 1
Bala Verde 1

Maybe it was the "Boss" avatar, but his suspensions often seemed a bit more wrathful. I'm going to miss that.
Hey, someone has to be the heavy hand. ;)

But considering the new avatar, it may be the Barrus is back to the ranks with the intent of being a key troublemaker and instigator.

The Hammer hits back! :D

Similar story to thoughforfood. I was banned because a moderator took offence to my reply to someones else's post. The poster was unfazed. The moderator's warped sense of language was not shared by anyone else in the thread. Then they continued to berate me by private message because they new if the things said were posted they would have been laughed off the forum.
There are some pretty jumpy, self-important moderators here. They need to take a few lessons from moderators on other forums who let the banter flow.

I sure hope the forum can survive this vicious blow.

you did an excellent job.
I once was a admin/mod at a different forum for some time, and I really didn't like it after a while. No fun.

Anyway you have bigger fish to fry in the mafioso ;)

ANyway... To the Mods (I dunno if this is the right place for this...)

I can see this july becoming annoying with 10 million repetitve threads.

I don't like to generalize (ok i do :p) but is there a way we could prevent new members, who are generally the culprits to make threads until they establish themselves a bit... like say 50 or 100 posts.

Well... if you had reported a post instead of only complaining on Twitter, we might have noticed the problem a bit earlier and done something about it... :D

i have reported specific things as soon as i have noticed them. Some things are not reportworthy, just grumbleworthy.

besides, i thought you mods were all meant to be here 16 hours a day during july and would spot everything :D

A big +1. I thought you did well.

Same here and I've still got the scars! I've always had more time for people who give it a go than those who sneer and carp from the sidelines with no understanding of what it's actually like and no inclination to find out.

It's going to be a bumpy month I reckon. Good luck to the admin/mod squad!

I'd like to say Thanks to the mods for the work so far in July.

Sticky-ing the Tour question thread should really help! Great idea!

And just think, today's just Day 1 :D
