Back to our moderation guys. Continued barking up a tree that has nothing to do with using sockpuppets to circumvent a ban, will be seen as trolling, jesting or not.

Since I was the person that banned Flicker and District 9, I think I will respond here.

After some checking it was abundantly clear that District 9 and Flicker were the same person.

The account District 9 was created during one of the bans of Flicker and was subsequently used during other bans as well.

Although this might not have always been the case, this has been the case for some time now. Sockpuppets in other situations can also result into bans of both long and short nature, depending on the situation, or it might just result into a choice for the member which account he wishes to retain, with the other account being banned or deleted.

I have to back you up on this one. Those posts are, um, over the edge from anything I've seen on this site (maybe I just don't get around that much). That being said, I am fairly certain that if they had been flagged, the mods would've intervened. I've never looked in that thread so I never realized it was the wild west. Considering the flak that The Clinic receives sometimes for the type of posting that goes on, I would say that the examples you have cited here are...a bit further away from "decent."

You have been here long enough to know that - whilst its fair enough you are a bit annoyed - no moderator has arbitrarily decided to deal with you differently to anyone else.

The last time I visited the thread in question it was about 5 posts old and contained a group of people discussing a triangular logo. Nobody has reported any posts from that thread since then (although frankly somebody should have before this point) and apparently no moderators went back there.

This is a circumstance that can and does happen at times.

I think it needs to be understood that many users don't like reporting posts. It feels like tattling to many people and they just don't want to do it. So this is going to result in the squeaky wheels getting most of the grease and uneven moderation. I think we should all be able to live with that fact.

Still...you may want to force yourself to peruse a few of the more "caustic" threads from time to time (like the general politics thread for example) just to make sure everything is above board.

And, of course, you should always check the "Babes on Bike" thread. If I see another oversized babe pic that is "quoted" and then "re-quoted" ad nauseum for 5 pages or more ...well I don't know what I'm going to do. There should be a new babe pic with every post!

Oh...And for the record Flicker should be reinstated. The gloating will be infinitely less satisfying without him ...
