There was some talk about action!!
Jaque Mate\ Check Mate
stars Adrian Suar as a kind of Spanish speaking James Bond type character, action from the beginning until the end of the movie, good entertainment.
Road House
I didn't expect much, was satisfied. The movie spends tons of time focusing on Jake Gyllenhaal's natural beauty, and he is, he has 12 or 18 pack stomach muscles and looks to have trained for a long, intense period for the movie, he is often w no shirt and underwear. The movie is absolutely terrible, I watched the whole thing, the don't give writers and director of Jack Reacher films any credit, but they copy the fight scenes almost word for word and move for move. Think of the movie as Raising Arizona and Jason Statham mix. Patrick Swayze' s legacy has nothing to worry about!!
The Book of Clarence
Is absolutely horrible
Nelja Pienta Aikuista \ Four Little Adults
A movie from Finland about an open marriage and it's strange to watch, husband and wife basically discover that it's not boredom, but instead they have semi chaos that follows them no matter the partner.. Not great
La Sociedad de la Nieve
This story has been told lots of different ways, different formats, about 1972 rugby team that crashes in a glacier in the Andes, despite being a repeat it was good, I always enjoy huge panorama shots of snow covered mountains. Can't really be a spoiler alert because I know the ending so the movie was good

After Schindler's List I thought Neeson would become a serious dramatic actor, never imagined he would become a Hollywood action star. His filmography is actually sort of all over the place, it's as if he's not very selective when it comes to choosing film roles? (At 71 though I can't fault the guy for grabbing roles while he still can.)
I liked the first two Taken movies but after that I got bored. How many times can you play an old guy who wants revenge ? One or two of the others were watchable at best. Harrison Ford has had the better and more varied career. Like you say, take the money and run while its being offered.

Gene Hackman had a pretty varied career also with the occasional sports movie or even a comedy - loved him in The Birdcage.

Can't believe Hackman is 94. Wow!

Brass Target (1978) a conspiracy thriller involving a plot to kill General Patton and a hunt for stolen Nazi Gold. Not bad, with an all star cast. nice performances from John Cassavetes and Max von Sydow. Patton officially died from complications from injuries suffered in a road accident before he was supposed to return to the USA at the end of the war and the missing gold was based on a true story and never recovered.

Road Games (1981) average thriller which should have been much better. Some nice visuals of the Australian outback and a good performance from Stacey Keach wasn't enough to save it. Thankless role for Jamie Lee Curtis who doesn't have much to do. Basically a well shot B movie that runs out of steam.

Gender Revolution
A documentary made by National Geographic and Katie Couric.
Gotta say I watched it and in a constant state of scientific surprise! And things I thought I knew about the human body and the human condition were incomplete.
Worth your time and balanced,

Absolute Zero (2006) - A forgettable, run-of-the-mill disaster flick on a budget, it's amazing how many of these apocalyptic flicks get made. I kept dozing off... I do have to admit Jeff Fahey's hair caught my attention because it didn't move. I don't think it was sprayed or gelled down, it just strangely didn't have any movement to it at all. Most interesting. lol!

Scream 6 (2023) with a running time of over two hours it's much too long especially for a horror film As a continuous line of unlikeable characters disappear, my eyelids felt heavier and heavier.. Another moribund franchise that should fall on it's sword but while there is money to be made they will keep pumping them out. Like watching a bad Thursday night football game between two teams that don't matter............

Perfect Days
It's a Japanese movie about a guy who cleans public toilets in Tokyo. It's got a bunch of day in the life stuff, including going to public bath, grocery shopping, out to eat, he rides his bike everywhere and you go w him. Not much dialogue and there is an American old school rock thing going on because he is a music buff, specifically old cassette tape collection, songs by Van Morrison, Patty Smith and Nena Simone are all part of the movie. Would I think that the music would fit in a Japanese movie? No, but it does perfectly. I see why critics like it.

We watched “Lights Out” starring Frank Grillo and Scott Adkins. It is a typical fight movie. I would have wanted a larger role for Scott Adkins in the movie, but I’m not complaining.
Grillo is also pretty good in Black Lotus.. Standard story veteran badass goes to visit wife and kid of guy who he served with, guy is dead, Grillo is a crime boss, and lots of action. Backdrop of Amsterdam, decent movie

Jon Cena is in 2 recent movies.. Freelance.. He is an ex veteran agrees to do a personal security mission in South America for one more big payday.. Pretty funny lots of action..
He is also w Zac Efron in Ricky Stanicky another screwball comedy, lots of cameo appearances by funny people.. Not that much comedy for a comedy but it's decent

I hope this counts!! For anyone who watched Thomas Craven, now 59 years old!! The guy was super, super disruptive racer, had great skills and speed. Was constantly mixing it up, guy was some version of a bike racing Energizer bunny. He was teammates w American greats, TDF stage winner Jeff Pierce, national champion and Olympic medalist Steve Hegg, and lots of other great racers. Cool to see him in some management role, he knows the sport. Craven also raced along side the most winning rider in American racing history, Scott Moninger

Memorial Day is to honor fallen veterans and their memories.
The Last Rifleman starring Pierce Brosnan
Don't know exactly why I clicked on the movie, glad I did. John Amos and Jurgen Prochnow are both briefly in the film and add something for sure. A very sweet movie about bitter subject
Not Saving Private Ryan but don't think they were aiming for that

Anaconda (1997) What seemed dumb but fairly entertaining in 1997 hasn't aged well. B Grade horror movie about a bunch of inexperienced try hards in the middle of the Amazon that get more than they bargained for from the local wildlife and from a shifty Jon Voight character. Not a bad cast for this sort of movie with Jon Voight hamming it up and looking like he's enjoying himself and Jennifer Lopez supplying the star power among others. Owen Wilson trying to act is always a chore to behold...............watchable at best.
