You're a prophet Ratta!

Very happy with his ride today even it fails spectacularly in the end

One of his best riders ever today. Gutsy effort, never gave up and made himself relevant again in the race despite not really having the legs

Hopefully won back some fans off that too

Yes. If others didn't help then he drove himself. He was in the front the entire 2nd climb and closed half the gap all by himself.

Always have been and will be a fan but yeah today he was amazing! Beat Alberto for second in the sprint and took 6 seconds bonus and overall a very strong ride by him. What to come in the third week and what are the possibilities?

He will attack, got nothing to lose and everything to gain! The rest should be worried, thats for sure.

Great ride by him today. This is what people want to see from Quintana, attacking properly.
Of course, he demonstrates the talent that is. It's more a matter of his mind

Wow what a surprise from Quintana. Completely unexpected. I particularly liked two things - the way he and Barguil closed the gap on Landa and Contador - sure Barguil did a lot but Quintana pulled well. And then of course the way did the descent. Was taking turns pulling in front. The icing on the cake was sprinting past Contador for the 2nd :) Nairo - you made my day!!!

Quintana pulled the entire 2nd climb which is no easy task and half of the descent and 3rd climb so it was more Quintana than Barguil.

Just to clarify, Quintana did most of the pulling on the last 2 climbs. On the second one it was all him. On the last one it was his pulling on the steep part that brought Contador and Landa. Yes, towards the last few kms it was more Barguil but the distance was already cut IMHO.

I doubt he was suddenly much stronger today. He took risks and got rewarded with a gain of almost 2 mins.
Well today his legs responded, yesterday they didn't! simple. It happenes to cyclists all the time.

He is back into contention for the podium, will be interesting in the Alps.

I hope Quintana forgets the podium goal at all -instead he should team up with Contador to turn the remaining race upside down!!

Third man? You're crazy

it's not true. Or you're a blind fanboy or you're unfair: Purito and Valvedrde were stronger, they always got in front of alberto. He won the vuelta with a magnificent game trick , but he was weaker. Also be sincere in life

Will we see a stronger Nairo in the third week, what usually happened in most of the GT's before, and a weaker and tired competitors than in the past 2 weeks? If so, Nairo should go all-in, no waiting around. His aim should be to make a real proper comeback for the GT win on wednesday and if he succeeds in that he could strike further on thursday.

Basically what it means is that from now on he should ride with the mentality to win the whole thing and not to opted for a position on the podium. He has been on the podium 3 times before and with how this TDF is going he really could cut the gap wednesday if he rides as aggressively as today. This race is far from over and the 2 hard mountain stages should suit him very well.

Of course, this all only applies if he has the legs to do it.

Valverde was stronger in Jaca, Bola del Mundo and Fuente de. Contador was stronger on ITT, Ezaro, Ancares, Covadonga and Cuitu Negru. On the triptico of the Vuelta (stages 14-16) whenever Contador was attacking Valverde was dropped. On stages 15 and 16 he was only coming back when Contador and Purito were playing start-stop games after Contador not managing to drop Purito. He was dropped by Contador in the end of stages 14 and 16 but they finished together on stage 15.
So, Contador was stronger than Valverde.

You don't really know what you are talking about. Contador only gain 6 seconds to valverde in fuente de
