ILovecycling said:2 months training in Colombia at 3000m altitude. He is coming to Europe only 3 days before the Grand Depart. So his schedule is Tour,San Sebastian and then maybe Vuelta
liamito said:Vuelta is still possible?
ILovecycling said:It is,I read it on twitter from colombian newspapers, but it depends on Unzue decision.
As for me,I dont like this idea back to back GTs ,he is so young.
liamito said:You have the article(s) for me?
ILovecycling said:I did on my mobile,so I dont have it,maybe you can search word 'Quintana' on Twitter or something
liamito said:No hits at all recently for the combination Quintana and Vuelta on the web.
ILovecycling said:try twitter, but it was couple of days ago,so...
Anyway..
What do you guys think about his chances at Tour if he survives 1st week?(I mean, situation where he has same time as Movistar team after TTT,it should be around +20s to Froome imo)
So before Ax3 he has +20s,what next?what can we expect?Co-leader with Valverde?Only a domestique?Attacking or not?
all_in said:I think he will lose some time in one of the early flat stages and than he will win on Alpe after an attack on the Sarenne.

The Hitch said:whats the movi team. They have some v good climbers but 3 were spent on the giro (benat, scarponi ( i mean errr visconti) and cobo lol)
rui costa is still top notch so i dont see why valverde would even need quintana cept at the real backend of stages. Because afterall Sky do all the pacing so he doesnt need that, all he needs is someone to stay with him just in case.
In a dream world Movi would make an alliance with saxo/katusha, to send quintana with Spillack/Moreno, or Rogers/Kreuziger up the road together so they are harder to catch.
Otherwise i think these talents will be mostly wasted on small "what if" roles.
"Voy a apoyar a Valverde, pero quiero hacer una gran presentación personal en el Tour": Nairo Quintana

gooner said:Nice article in Procycling this month about Quintana.
In the piece a member of Sky's management set-up said they "won't be a giving him any room to manoeuvre at all." Matt Rendell did say he got told by Brailsford during Pais Vasco that he thought he was a future Tour winner. It does seem they are wary and worried about him.
Now Movistar leave him loose from the shackles.
