Quintana is the big danger man in my opinion. Outside of crashes I struggle to pick a GT he rode where he didn't appear stronger in the second half. Not only that but the rest of the terrain is perfect for him. I think he should be considered the man to beat right now

Interesting is that I read an article at Bici about Nairo and Valverde, and it seems like they want to attack in the Pyrenees too, which is surprising for me.OTOH maybe Im reading too much into that articleoffbyone said:

According to the articles we can read, nothing sensational from him and Movi should be expected tomorrow.
They're cautious, but probably just because they want to maximize the result in the coming days.
I'm convinced Quintana will have the best cumulative result in the Alps and Pyrenees. Should it be enough for the top spot, remains to be seen.

With Movistar having 2 strong GC riders it makes sense that they'd try exploit it while they are both still credible threats (still don't personally see them doing anything till Wednesday though). They probably also feel like they need to knock off at least 30-45s off Froome before they leave too if they want a realistic shot at overcoming him in the Alps. It may also be that while Nairo has typically come on very strong in week 3 of GT's that they have tried to get him to top form for week 2 with the aim of sustaining that in week 3 now he's a little older and a little more experienced.

The Pyrenees typically feature steeper climbs which suit Quintana better.

they need to let valverde attack tomorrow early. that can kill sky and froome as long as valverde doesn't drop today

He lost 24 seconds to Quintana in the third week. That leaves three options: 1) Froome wasn't weak, 2) Quintana wasn't strong, 3) if Froome was weak and Quintana was strong, Froome has nothing to fear in this Tour.
