Yeah, to be honest I think this is just posturing, and that even if Quintana is 100% serious about it (which I doubt), the Friars won't allow it.ice&fire said:We haven't heard the Friars last word yet.hrotha said:The Friars are unbelievable. What a way to manage their assets.
Abarca Sports, basically. They're called the frailes in Spain and I think it's time the nickname goes international.Escarabajo said:Who are the Friars?

I believe the nickname can be attached to anyone entitled to say: "Amin!"hrotha said:Yeah, to be honest I think this is just posturing, and that even if Quintana is 100% serious about it (which I doubt), the Friars won't allow it.ice&fire said:We haven't heard the Friars last word yet.hrotha said:The Friars are unbelievable. Why are they called that?

Im pretty sure its because they are traditionalists, conservative and extremely serious, somewhat like monks, or something.![]()

Another thing Quintana has already done is "not winning the Tour".Ryo Hazuki said:quintana can do this. he won the giro in 2014 on 80% as well

He won it because of Stelviogate. Otherwise it would have been a surprisingly close call even to Aru!hrotha said:Another thing Quintana has already done is "not winning the Tour".Ryo Hazuki said:quintana can do this. he won the giro in 2014 on 80% as well
Yes, but you also have to remember than he was totally in control and taking it rather easy on the final Zoncolan stage (and also to a lesser extent on the Rifugio Panarotta stage when he was just watching Uran), without Stelviogate he'd have been forced to go all out.staubsauger said:He won it because of Stelviogate. True as well of course. But by that time of the race he looked to be pretty close to his peak shape based on his display at the Monte Grappa mtt. I don't think he really won that Giro being at 80%. He was in fact kinda ill and struggeld midway as well. That's hardly winning the race with 80%, but more brilliant recovery if true.Mayomaniac said:Yes, but you also have to remember than he was totally in control and taking it rather easy on the final Zoncolan stage (and also to a lesser extent on the Rifugio Panarotta stage when he was just watching Uran), without Stelviogate he'd have been forced to go all out.staubsauger said:He won it because of Stelviogate. quintana faced aru that giro and destroyed him.MatParker117 said:Ryo Hazuki said:quintana can do this. he won the giro in 2014 on 80% as well
He also wasn't facing two grand tour winners and several GT podium finishers the field is much stronger. I expect Nibali and Aru to throw the kitchen sink at him.
