Teams & Riders Nans is not the next Lance, but he has won stages in both the Giro and the Tour de France - The Nans Peters Thread

He apparently crashed twice on stage 1, and the pain increased over the next days until he had to throw in the towel.
They later discovered he had fractured a bone in his lower back.

He hasn't been lucky this season after suffering a knee injury earlier this year and catching Covid as well, but hopefully he'll be back for the Vuelta, all fired up to complete his set of GT stage wins.

Nans Peters is special, really… Congrats on nice Laigueglia win.

He has a great palmares, with TdF, Giro stages, Laigueglia, and other nice results.

But he‘s really mysterious, too. He oftenly goes from world class to mediocre WT pro, and back. No really constant shape.

He obviously can win hard, hilly 200k races. Which makes him a candidate for many nice Italian races.

He's a guy who's been capable of winning from breakaways and he's rarely been a team leader, so you won't see him get a lot of top results. He's also been hit by bad luck during the past two seasons and hasn't really been able to reach his best level. Hopefully he'll perform well during the rest of 2023 and maybe he's finally going to win that Vuelta stage to complete the treble.

His two GT stage wins came from being strong and smart, whereas today's win was more of a team effort. He did finish 5th in Trofeo Laigueglia four years ago, so it's not the first time he's been riding well at this point of the season.
