It's a 'business decision'.
They want to be in the best physical shape for when it pays.
There might also be pro-team contract limitations.

Where is the most money potential?
From a National Championship, or from TdF?

Rein Taaramae (Estonia) just won the ITT.

Good news since Kangert was very good in tour de suisse's time trial. Taaramäe was very satisfied with his performance after the TT.

Hopefully he can take the national road champion jersy too so we can see it on the tour. Nothing against Kangert winning it either since I usually stuggle to spot him in the peloton. :p

Velits Brothers + 2 other OPQS riders vs 2 Sagan Brothers vs Kreuziger vs 2 Netapp riders vs local teams from Czech Rep. and Slovakia.

Sagan without any support - he said that it is one of the toughest events of the year for his as there is no team support at all - will be simillar to his Olympics race as he will be alone ...

Also worth considering is how suited these national championships are to the riders in question.

Think of the Worlds and who enters. In Mendrisio riders like Samuel Sánchez, Damiano Cunego, Alejandro Valverde, Aleksandr Kolobnev, Joaquím Rodríguez and Cadel Evans took part.

Even notwithstanding suspensions, how many similar riders took part in Copenhagen 2011?

Tjallingii leads the dutch ITT champs, but just now, we have a new fastest split time by a certain W. Kelderman

The two countries share the same championship? How do they get away with that?
