Anyone know what the parcours is like for the Italian road championship?

All I know it favors Nibali and Cunego.

I know it favours them, that's why I want to see what the parcours is like.

both of them are out of shape and won't contend for the win

the italian route,it was talked about it a lot in this thread already

around 4000 m of climbing...it really depends on how they are going...if they put the hammer down they will drop pippo i guess.still he looked brilliant at times this year..but i still say it will be unlikely

What would you expect, the pros have to survive 3500m of climbing during 228kms, it's just like riding a mountain stage. Guys without a proper engine won't make it.
I actually read on twitter this morning he was going to do a recon, and I expected a reaction like this. Maybe he should consider switching to a Belgian license this year?

With all due respect, those guys aren't EBHs, so to speak.

Although I don't see what would be the higher risk of a crit race as opposed to the nationals.

What do you mean by saying they arent EBH's? If you mean that they are not on his level, i will remind you that nuyens won Ronde van Vlanderen last year.

He hasn't done the Tour since 2007 and he always rides the Vuelta with the Worlds in mind(which I don't like).

Are you saying Nick Nuyens wants to take bigger risks because he'll less likely win a stage in the Tour? Then again, Olympics are important for Nuyens and since he's a much better one day racer than EBH...

I am very happy with the victory. For me this is first ever gold medal at Russian Road Championships and this is very important for me. Thanks to my team and the Russian Global Cycling Project I came back to national championships after 11 years and from the beginning could get a win! Its really fantastic. Today I felt very well, I see that my shape is improving every day and at the moment is at good level with just a week before Tour de France. I won quite easy, without super effort, so, I am satisfied. Tour de France is starting with just a week and I am waiting for it very much. We have a strong team, which can reach really good results

That is the course. They have to ride it 22! times. that's 3000+ meters of altitude gain. Very hard steep hills continously basically. a climber will win. Think along the lines of:

Yes it is, 88 climbs (4 per lap), 3300hm. Go figure.

Favorites are Gesink, Poels, Mollema, Kruijswijk, Ruijgh, Terpstra, Hoogerland, Westra e.g. everyone that can go well on hills.
