It is not so confusing for us. We were one country for more that 70 years. At least we have one race with some competition. The total amount of cyclists in both countries is very low.

I know it used to be one country. And of course the low amount of riders make it really logical to hold it together.
Thinking about it though; this was of doing it is probably only possible because the split was rather peaceful. Wasn't it pretty much a case of "we wanna split into two countries." "Let's have an election!" "We're now two countries!" :D

1: They don't cross any borders. They take it in turns to host.

2: First Czech becomes their national champ, first Slovak becomes their national champ.

3: Remember that until recently outsiders could enter the Aussie and Kiwi nationals; an outsider could thus win the race, but they couldn't win the nationals, because they weren't a national of the country holding the race, so the first Australian or New Zealander to cross the line would become champion.

4: If you want to do the border crossing thing, maybe the Dutch or Belgians can put a one day race around Baarle-Hertog or something.

1: Cool.

2: You know... I was sorta joking with my earlier comment about first Czech = Slovak champion and first Slovak = Czech champion. :p
But imagine if the hosts accidentally messed up...

3: WHAT?

4: Maybe

Is not racing the TT it seems.

Edit: well, he is listed on the timing, but was not listed as a starter when I last checked

I've just seen he's really not on some of the documents. Now my comment above seems a bit too stingy, sorry ACF. He's said he would be riding during the Tour de Suisse and the team has mentioned it today, so I guess he's indeed riding.

I checked the start list and did not see him there. The startlist was confusing so we'll see if he is actually racing.

This afternoon @f_cancellara will defend his National TT title in Satigny, close to Geneva. Tomorrow it's @BobJungels's turn in Luxembourg!

Movistar should try something like the oficial Spanish Federation National Chmpion jersey.

I like it.

Cancellara fastest at the second split, Elmiger just 3 seconds slower. Elmiger was fastet at the first split with 7 seconds on Cancellara, so 10 seconds turnaround.
Hollenstein +36 at 2nd split, Wyss +1:02, Imhof +1:27

1. Lieuwe Westra 1:03:59.1 49.32
2. Niki Terpstra 1:04:03.6 00:04 49.27
3. Tom Dumoulin 1:04:39.9 00:40 48.80
4. Lars Boom 1:05:02.1 01:03 48.53
5. Stef Clement 1:05:19.1 01:20 48.32
6. Peter Koning 1:05:20.0 01:21 48.31
7. Martijn Keizer 1:05:41.3 01:42 48.04
8. Dion Beukeboom 1:05:43.8 01:44 48.01
9. Wilco Kelderman 1:06:06.8 02:07 47.74
10. Jens Mouris 1:06:10.6 02:11

No podium for Blanco here.

It was the same in the US

Westra is Dutch TT champion, 4 secs ahead of Terpstra. It's fair to say that he's the champion thanks to Boom, whom he picked up after about 20 k and after that it was a two-up TT.

Boo. Poor Niki. :(

ITT's are on friday and road races on sunday.

All foreign riders will be there. I just don't know if Silvestre will ride the u23 or the elite race.

Do you have the profile from the elites road race?

I tried to find it on official website, but couldn't.

Its pretty similar to last years profile so it favours the sprinters.

I just hope Manuel Cardoso doesn't win again. . .
Guess it will be a little bit boring then, if there were some hard hills i would probably go there watch.

Libertine made an aproximation based in the directions pdf. from FPC-UVP i think. Its quite simillar to this.

Portugal, depressingly, will be returning to the Pataias circuit once more. This is mostly flat, though there is a dip partway through the circuit, and it climbs back out of this again, however it's about half a kilometre at 6-7%, not enough, were the nationals a "normal" race, to prevent the sprint. However, national championships aren't always a normal race, so while in 2011 João Cabreira and Mario Costa just evaded the bunch, 2012 was the bunch sprint you might have expected, with Manuel Cardoso triumphing.

My approximation:

Silvestre isn't U23 anymore, I don't think there's much choice about what to ride. ;)
