British championships in Glasgow on the 23rd. Just had a quick look at the route, city centre loop raced 13 times. There are actually a few steep ramps included, not as many as there could be but it's a fairly good route.

I can't quite work out how they are going through Kelvingrove park, I think it's past the new primary school but that'll mean removal of some barriers.

199 km: 7 big laps @ 21.5 km (left) followed by 6 small laps @ 8.1 km (right).

It looks bumby but it's not too difficult. I guess gradients are only 2-3%. It's probably even easier than the Danish World's course. Although cross winds could be a factor according to preliminary reports.

For the minor countries in cycling, our RR national championship (Lebanon) will be this Sunday. (Note that I'm the defendent champion )

I lost the title, but only to a teammate of mine, who did a very long solo breakaway, the other teams underestimated that breakaway and the gap started growing very fast.

At the end, we were a group of 3 from different teams fighting for 2nd and 3rd, but with less than 500 m to go, one of them launched a huge attack that we couldn't follow and I had to sprint for 3rd and got beaten. When you see the pics below, there is no surprise I got beaten. I'm one of the worst sprinters ever! Look at me, sprinting with the hands on the hoods and body too high!

Note that, being the worst sprinter, my option was to try and attack, around 10 k to go. When I did my first attack, the guy who later finished second, when he caught me, threatened me and pushed me hard but I didn't fall. My team later filed a complaint to the federation, but no further action was taken by the fed officials, who have no balls. Do you know what are the rules in this case?

Yep we keep complaining about that but our fed doesn't care about our safety, among other things.
You think the UCI is corrupt, you should see our national federation.

The organiser sure did his best hyping the route, stating that JVDB is the top favourite nonetheless the toughest course in a long time, with 4000+ altitude metres to overcome.

16 loops from 13.8km with Côte de La Roche-en-Ardenne (2.8km, 6.2% and known from our beloved LBL) as the main difficulty. 220.8km in total.

Team Sky, who will field a formidable line-up headed by defending champion, Ian Stannard, have arguably the strongest squad. Britain’s only WorldTour team has also registered Tour of Britain winner, Jon Tiernan-Locke, Manx rider, Peter Kennaugh, who showed good form at the Criterium du Dauphine, Luke Rowe, Ben Swift, and neo pro, Josh Edmondson. The absence of Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome from Sky’s travelling party is expected, but Geraint Thomas, champion in 2010, is a surprise omission. Rowe, Stannard, and Swift will also contest the time trial.
