Germany Elite:

1. Tony Martin 49:14
2. Jasha Sütterlin 50:53
3. Nils Politt 51:37
4. Patrick Gretsch 51:51
5. Daniel Westmattelmann 52:43

U23:

1. Maximilian Schachmann 51:37
2. Jan Tschernoster 52:14
3. Marco Mathis 52:33
4. Leon Rohde 53:40
5. Florian Stork 53:51
Last years U23 champion Kämna (19 years old) raced with the pros and finished 10th. Last year he finished 7 secconds ahead of Politt, but Politt hd a really impessive season as a neopro and is ove 2 years older (and 15kg heavier), Kämna onthe oter hand had a rather disappointing season (until now).

Roche wins Irish ITT championship from Eddie Dunbar and Ryan Mullen. Nice pick up after the disapointment of being left out of the tour squad .

Roche looks very thin ....maybe not getting the Tour spot has spured him into upping his game
He won by quite a margin to Dunbar & Mullen

And IMO the bigger story is how anonymous Mullen has been this year, and at this race most surprisingly of all.

Mullen posted his personal best last night

http://www.stickybottle.com/coaching/ryan-mullens-personal-best-data-from-national-tt-champs/

Just goes to show how well Roche is going

Plus what a talent Dunbar is .....if he would only reign in the 100K solo breaaways

Anyway its hard stepping up to the WT ...Mullen may need tiem to find his legs
HelloDolly Roche hype must go on :)

I've never been much for Roche hype but it's fair to say that this was an impressive TT performance. Yes the guys he put a minute into are kids, but they are very good kids and Roche was not expected to hammer them.

I'm even more surprised by Dunbar winning the U23s. That dude is knee high to a grasshopper and weighs less than a damp dishcloth.

Speaking of Roche, is the Irish RR likely to be another Roche v Dunbar contest? As I understand it, with no Martin or Deignan, they seem to be the only reasonably high level climbers in a race that, very unusually for an Irish nats, actually has a climb on the circuit.

That said, with no teammates I suppose either or both could simply miss a move and that's it for their chances. An Post could make it interesting if they get a couple of guys into a break with riders from the stronger domestic amateur squads.

What hype ? I only said he did a very good TT .which is true....bloody hell talking of hype there are whole threads on this site full of hype for riders who have done alot less ...

And Kokoso you are hype personified with your never ending posts about Krueuziger or Konig (who wasn't even picked by SKY to ride the Tour yet) you say he should be a leader at SKY

Edie Dunbar has also very short legs ...just like CAV has
He will do well in the RR is he reigns if 100KM solo breakaway

Not sure why you responded to me, I was saying that you weren't hyping him because his performance was actually impressive.

As for Dunbar, every part of him is short!

Who are favorites in Italy, Germany and France?
France: hilly course in Pinot's backyard, FDJ to put rhythm and get the sprinters out of contention. For the win, I see Pinot, Bardet, Alaphilippe, or Gallopin. If AG2R is strong, Latour or Vuillermoz can break late in the race and resist. But the four PBAG are the aces in the deck of cards. Joker: Chavanel.

The German one is a sprinters race in Kittels hometown. But both, Kittel and Greipel have only one teammate. The bigger teams Giant (5 riders with Degenkolb) Bora (9 riders with Bauhaus) and Stölting (8 riders with Ciolek) have spinters as well but they should see bigger chances from a break. My money is on a random win from a break.

Trixi Worrack won the women ITT - a big suprise as she had her left kidney removed three months ago after her crash at the Trofeo Alfredo Binda.

I was replying to everyone :)

Is the Irish RR televised by any chance

Lottofail is doing their outmost best to not win right now.

Peloton is shredded because of a 2bft wind (next to the coast you don't need much wind) with pretty much all favourites in it though. Lotto-jumbo doesn't work since they play the Groenewegen card. Then Tankink attacks to force their rivals to chase, but he gets v.d. poel, b.van Poppel(trek) and Duyn with him. Van Poppel and v.d. Poel are a lot faster then Tanking so Tankink doesn't work, but now Lotto-Jumbo is chasing hard for 10km after their own mate attacked, but can't close the gap with 8km to go.

Yet. Once they do they burned quite a lot of soldiers though :)
