Just to remind you, the seahawks missed a field goal in the first half. Imagine they would have scored that one

Plus going for it on 4th down and failing when they could have taken the FG.

Seattle had too much to make up. Nice comeback though. Rodgers and Wilson were impressive in losing sides. Carolina seemed to go to sleep in the third quarter and Seattle sensed a change in the momentum. Cardinals and Panthers should be good although I would have preferred it as the Superbowl game.
Good thing foxxy is gone otherwise you would get a long slogging about how stupid you are for thinking that there is momentum in sports!

Picking is tough for next week, but:
Broncos
Panthers

Seattle is out so I will ride the Broncos to the title!

I was .500 this weekend. High for batting, but low for QBR! :D

You know Pete Carroll is serious when he stops chewing gum. No chewing in the last quarter ! As for Mr Foxxy I usually escaped his tirades ! Dumb luck.

Well, that late fumble by Pittsburgh definitely claws a momentum changer within the game.

I'll take New England over Denver, and probably Carolina over Arizona. I'm a little concerned about the Panthers though. More later, obviously.

Traditionally this weekend is the best if the season, and this week hasn't disappointed!

Usually my favorite week in the NFL

I think Pats and Panthers are the favorites next week but I can't completely rule out the other teams although they both will have to step up big time.

very entertaining weekend of football, my son (2.5 years old) was asleep when the packers scored on the hailmary, took all control i had not to wake him up shouting, amazing effort to fightback . . . but then to just roll over in OT, terrible.

Some proper tackling and they could have held the Cards at the 40 yard line and then who knows.

Watched the Steelers/Broncos game this morning, that turnover really was crucial, the Broncos look beatable which makes next week's game against the Pats a very entertaining prospect, their home field advantage should even things up a bit and make for a great game, I'm glad that's the late game - which means 530AM here.

The first game is 2AM, not ideal.

Only 3 games left for the season :(

Patriots @ Broncos is the first game, mind you.

Patriots and Cardinals. I have liked the Cardinals all season. Should be a great game with the Panthers. I thought the Denver Pittsburgh game was pretty dull compared to the previous few.

Don't do that to me! February is the worst for me because football is done, the trails are still muddy, and the snow is crap.

1) That depends on the soils in your area: here its not OK to ride muddy trails because it will cause a years worth of damage and increase erosion xxxx fold. You not only destroy the trails for yourself, but thousands of other users as well.
2) Mud is hard on equipment, the mud here is like 200 grit.
3) I'm not willing to ride for a few hours and then have to clean for an hour.

But wait! There's the NBA!
Or NOT!

But really, if you are interested in off-season NFL events, or might be interested in this, key dates of note are:
- scouting combine is held the last week of February
- free agency begins on March 15
- see a full list of dates at:
http://www.profootballrumors.com/nfl-offseason-important-dates-2016-calendar/
And then there are all the player evaluation resources out there on the web for college players entering the May draft. A couple resources I like to use are DraftTek.com and WalterFootball.com.

Seahawks have had this habit of playing poor first half football this season, and yesterday's game summed up their season. Play poorly for a half, play well for a half. Win by a touchdown or less, or lose by a touchdown or less. Though I don't think it was a heartbreaker. The Panthers played better, simply as that. You can't expect multiple miracles every game. Giving up 31 points in a game for the Hawks is bad enough, but 31 in only two quarters!?! They deserved to lose, but the effort to at least make it a game and not go away quietly, was definitely commendable and at least go into the offseason with a feeling that they competed in the 2nd half. It's hindsight now, but how costly was the FG miss right before half time and going for it on 4th down not long before that? That's 6 potential points.

After these divisional games, there's no clear favorite for the SB. Panthers went up big, but almost choked away and let the Seahawks back in it, the Cards played to a sloppy win against the Packers, the Broncos beat a limping Steelers team and now host another limping team in the Patriots, who didn't look great against the Chiefs. Obviously it's the wins that count, but I don't see a favorite in this. In terms of experience, you have to go with either the Patriots or Broncos against the NFC teams, but i think the Cards and Panthers will be slight favorites in the SB, whoever that game features.

You left out the Pro Bowl. ;)

In all seriousness, did you watch it last year? It was the best Pro Bowl I had seen, because they beta tested a few potential new rules, and they had numerous players and coaches mic'd up, plus some camera angles you don't normally see, which gave you real insight into the game.

The Senior Bowl is also interesting, as you'll see players that are likely to be drafted fairly early in the draft.

I'm also a fan of the Combine, which starts on Feb 23rd. There does seem this lull after the Super Bowl, where you feel like it's all over, and hear about broken down players, players retiring, and more. But the Combine is a great look into the future, even if it's a crap shoot trying to see who's really going to be great come NFL time.

For me the real dreary no football time is in the early summer. But that's when I'm having fun, and on my bike almost every day.

The non game stuff doesn't interest me that much. I've been threatening to move because I don't deal with even mild winter well anymore. I need at least 60 degrees, dry, and sunny to be happy! With that said, I think that I'm going to go do a few turns today since the local hill got 4" last night.

Not all is lost, our season (Australian Rules Football) starts in March and I'm hoping for a great year for my Bulldogs, they haven't won the league since 1954, so.. you know. . . they're due.

I need to find what channel to watch this in the US. Whenever I've seen it I've found it highly entertaining.
