Only thing positive is that he was walking under his own power instead of riding a cart into the exam area..
But he needed the cart from the exam tent to the locker room. Jets fans better hope this is premature speculation:

The Jet's worst fears confirmed:

An Achilles tear is tough to come back at 100% especially for older athletes. This could be career ending & we may have seen the last of Rodgers in a football uniform

Unbelievable game that the Jets pulled out the victory against this adversity. Incredible defense & special teams play - and Wilson didn't do anything stupid to lose the game.

Wow, I can’t believe Rodgers is out for the season and no way to start at your new team. Though he can be happy in the sense that he got paid still and Packers absolutely happy they moved on and Love looked good. Brought all of who he wanted over and now this. I wonder if he will come back next year or go to the Vikings to complete his Favre journey.

I think the wheels came off the Bills from the defense and fan response. They just started to circle the drain and get closer and closer to the end.

Wow 3 key players from different teams w Achilles injuries..
WOW! The Jets are 1-0! I didn't think that they would win with AR, but when he went down I assumed that is was game over. Like I said with DET, this win for NYJ is bigger than just a win.

movingtarget, I don't know if the Bills self destructed or if they were destroyed my NYJ D.
Bills can't have that many turnovers and expect to be there.. What an ending. What an emotional roller coaster for everyone!! Game on 9-11 in the Meadowlands..the staff w all the FDNY stuff and your great white hope quarterback doesn't make it to a second series of snaps. Wind knocked out of the team and the stadium.
Saw another report about a Raven or maybe Jag..Achilles injury out for the year.. I think that I read Rodgers and 2 other starters from other teams out..

That works out to $18,750,000.00 per play. Not bad for a few minutes work......

Don't really want to troll..but there are a bunch of other supplemental insurance policies, like the ones popularized in Aflac and other commercials.. would not be surprised if he is getting even more money..
And Rodgers is going to be in a town of doom.. Anything and everything he does while injured he will do in the spotlight of New York City..
The other A-Rod got trashed by the press for sunning himself shirtless in Central Park on a game day were the Yankees lost.. Rodgers will go out to eat or catch a show, go on a date and the press will go crazy about him sandbaggin and collecting cash and not hurt that bad..I give it 2 months..
My advice to Rodgers call the public relations firm that Plaxico Burress and Mark Sanchez used..or Geno Smith.. I never knew how any of them made it out of NYC alive.. maybe Bill Buckner has some wisdom. I wish him the best but this might be it..

If you were trolling, it wasn't off topic or unenlightened. The scrutiny he might not appreciate could focus on his own private training which most NFL QBs do. The "hit" was more of a fall and a light one at that and he may have not actually prepared for serious contact or even running worth a sh*t. His fans might be generating conspiracy theories of their own that don't work for him to go to any NYC restaurant or bagel stand.
He'd be better off taking therapy, collecting his contract and supplemental policy payments where he can't be spotted by Average Joe New Yark that just 2nd mortgaged the homestead for a season ticket.
On the other hand, Zach may develop into another Joe New York like the guy that won the Big Game for the Jets.

The Jets need to bring in another QB either to start ahead of, or back up Wilson. Wentz is out there still right? Foles? Other backups that teams would trade out?

EDIT: grass vs. turf: IMO nothing changes no matter what NFL playing surface they were playing on. Injured Achilles not matter what. His cleats wouldn't have 'released' on grass either due to many factors.

C'mon...man, you bring in one of those stiffs to start ahead of Wilson after he just led his team to victory - and you might as well just trade him now. I can see bringing in a Ryan or Foles as a veteran backup for the kid. But to go in a different direction with a another QB would be slap in the face to Wilson.

IMO, Wilson should have been the starter this season & given one more year to develop. He's started in only 14 games in his short 2 seasons in the league with most of those missed games due to injury. This should be the Zach Wilson show moving forward...win or lose.

The Aaron Rodgers crusade is a complete joke now . And I'm hearing reports of diehard Jets fans are having PTSD because of this? (Please...get a life other than worshiping pro football. Lol). All that hype & talk, the ESPN "Hard Knocks" show centering around him & running onto the field carrying the American flag like he's some kind of a hero - and sustains a major injury on the fourth play of the game. And it wasn't even a hard sack - a very "soft" sack by NFL standards. But you could see the calf tremble and snap....there went the Achilles.

Rodgers is old & beat up. He's not an anomaly like Brady. When I saw Rodgers in the OTAs & training camp - he looked gimpy & fragile. The NFL has not been kind to his body. He needs to ride off into sunset & let that body heal from the years of physical abuse. He's had a stellar career, he's a future Hall of Famer, he has status, he has a zillion $$$ to take of care of him for the rest of his life...what else would he want?

Even talk of the 49ers trading Darnold to the Jets which makes little sense in that the whole reason he is there is to have a reasonable back up after the QB woes last season. Eagles cut Ian Book and the 49ers trialed him so there might be more chance that Book becomes the 3 and Allen gets moved. Even that would be pretty odd as Book has been cut from two teams already and has only had one start which didn't go well at the Saints. while Kyle Allen has had a ton of experience.

He might like to rethink some of the questionable theories he thought the world needed to hear. That, and maybe be nicer to women he dated.

Didn’t watch the full game but I saw the three fumbles by the Vikings in the first half. You can’t turn the ball over and all three kept points off the board or allowed Eagles to score to make them lose a one score game. Can’t win many games turning the ball over 4 times. I wonder how long games will be sloppy.
It took about three or four weeks last year.

I'm too lazy to scroll back, but I was complaining about sloppy football for about 1/3 of the season last year (and other recent years...). Some sloppy games can still be entertaining though.

Preseason used to be MOSTLY about getting ready for the season, but now its MOSTLY tryouts for the roster.

Look at the injury history of the 2 QBs:

Brady had uncanny resiliency over his 23 yr career. He probably could play at a high level for a few more years if he wanted to.

It’s speculated Rodgers has more injuries, especially fractures, due to corticosteroid use for pain which weakness the bones. Fracture in the other extra curricular activities Rodgers takes part in on top of not seeming to take his body as seriously. That’s not to say he went Big Ben mode but Brady took a lot better care of his fitness, pliability, and diet. Then factor in Brady’s dedication to maintain that while Rodgers enjoys the finer things in life more. Like Sharpe always said, the fact Brady still wanted to perform and be his best at meetings, practices, OTAs, during and off season was remarkable and one of a kind. Truly a cause of my talent might not be better than all of you or even close to some of you but my work ethic is far superior.

No doubt Brady had superior mental strength and drive. He absolutely hated losing and he was spending a fortune on off field work on his body and diet. even Russell Wilson estimated to be spending one mill per season on extra training and maintenance on his body with mixed results..............
