Jets to the superbowl...oh wait, maybe not...
I am sure I have said this before but Buck-Aikman is good in my opinion. Troy didn't come out with any doomsday predictions... but he did repeatedly reference the home loss for the Jets and tough schedule coming looks grim..saw press conference and makes me at another level of.. Can't stand Aaron Rodgers as he tried to put skill and science as some components to his hail Mary toss that he was somehow targeting one of his players.. in defensive traffic that wasn't there when he released the ball.. Low flying Jets ..

Jets offense finally looks a little better after having a “different play caller” while their defense takes a hit with their defensive minded head coach gone.

Rodgers and his biggest fans say that Rodgers needs better weapons in Green Bay, goes to New York and brings the core receivers over. Rodgers is just having fun in his per diem job/full time vacation in New York with his friends.

As good as Adams is, I'll be really surprised if the Jets improve that much, honestly. They haven't had any consistency on offense, can't string drives together, are in too many 2nd and long, 3rd and long situations. And Rodgers continues to choke games away late. Adams can't fix all that. Their schedule isn't that tough, nor is it easy. But let's just say they go 7-4 the rest of the way, which seems possible, maybe slightly optimistic. This means they finish 9-8. Let's then pretend they go 8-3 the rest of the way, and make the playoffs. Who here thinks they are going on the road then and taking out a team like Houston? Baltimore? Let alone KC?

Raiders lost their best offensive player, but behind the curtain their GM Tom Telesco gets an A-, as he got the Jets to eat Adams entire bloated contract. He hasn't said it, but it's obvious the Raiders are a mess with no depth, no QB, and headed for a rebuild. We'll, he just freed up a chunk of cash, and a decent draft pick. More money + more draft picks = faster rebuild.

As to Amari Cooper headed to the Bills, to me, this means Cleveland is giving up on their season, at least their offense. If the Browns trade away more high priced players for draft picks, it will signal to me they plan on cutting Watson after June 1st, and just eating the millions of dollar cap hit to do a total rebuild. That's what I'd do if I were Andrew Barry or Paul DePodestra.
Be interested to see if Darnold can keep it going for the rest of the season.
If you watch last week's win over the Jets he looked more like a game manager, with a few good throws. But maybe that is all they need? Next week's game against the Lions will be telling, for both teams. Two locomotives headed straight into one another on the same track. IF the Vikings can get past Detroit, the rest of their schedule is fairly easy. They've already beat the tough teams they faced: SF, Houston, GB.

Just like the Browns to go to the playoffs with a back up QB and good defense then the following year, have ditched the self same back up QB and their defense has gone backwards as well. Browns another team that needs a partial rebuild especially on offense. Cowboys starting to look that way as well. 49ers will lose many depth players next season as well as starters on defense as the Purdy pay rise factors in among other things. They just extended CMC, Trent Williams and Aiyuk Teams like the Lions will have more squad stability next season but losing Hutchinson this season is a huge loss for the Lions.

I too am a bit surprised the Steelers have benched Fields. He played better in the first three games, than the last three, but he has never been bad at all, with the team 4-2 and tied for first. Either Tomlin knows something we don't (probable) or he's hedging something, and will have Russ on a short leash.

Browns are going to need a new QB more than anything.

I can actually see the Browns tanking at this point, doing something like trading Myles Garrett to the Lions, Denzel Ward to the Bengals or Falcons, in order to get out of paying their contracts, and gain draft picks, and help offset the enormous cost it will be to cut Watson. Here's another thing about Watson. As soon as he's done with the Browns I'll be surprised if he ever plays another down in the NFL. Or another team signs him. Ever. He is now a terrible player, and no team is going to sign him with his baggage. He's also shown very little motivation to actually, you know, play well, win. He's got his money, and is taking the Jamarcus Russell route.

Cowboys have very little wiggle room. Just signed Dak Prescott to be the highest paid player in the NFL at $60m a year, Plus gave Lamb an enormous deal. Parsons is also playing on the last year of a contract, and since Jerry didn't pay him earlier, he's either going to have to cut a huge check, or come next spring someone else will do so.

True. Looks like the Cowboys will need some hits in the draft at least so will the Browns and 49ers. But so far the 49ers last draft class isn't looking too bad and people are waiting to see what Pearsall has to offer when he gets on the field probably after the bye week in early November. CMC's return is still in limbo at this stage same with Greenlaw but they get Feliciano back as a good depth piece on the O line.

Wonder where Reddick will end up now that he has requested a trade after his contract negotiations seem to be going nowhere. Lions would probably be the obvious contender to sign him. Also rumors about Crosby and Garrett getting traded.

I'd be really shocked if the Raiders trade Crosby. He's the heart and soul of the entire team. It would be likely a team like the Lions would want him, but what do they have to give up? A late 1st round draft pick? I doubt the Raiders would bite on that. And the Raiders have plenty of cap room. $108m next year, and a whopping $203m for 2026. The dead money is also light for 2025, and $0 for 2026, meaning they're playing with a full deck in the future.

It makes no sense at all since Fields is winning & the team is tied for first. And Fields stats at this point aren't too bad either: Over 1100 yds passing (5 TDs/1 INT) & 231 rushing with 5 TDS. Fields is one of the better dual-threat QBs in the league & can beat you with his feet - can Wilson provide that same attribute? Is Wilson mobile enough to avoid sacks & extend plays? Is he another injury just waiting to happen?

And what does this do to Fields' confidence? And if Wilson starts losing games, does Tomlin go back to Fields playing musical chairs? Last year at this point the Steelers were also 4-2, but Tomlin didn't entertain the idea of benching Pickett.

Let's not forget Wilson did a plenty good job doing that himself the last two years. Though he may be more accurate of a passer than Fields, still.

With how banged up the Saints are, I think the Broncos will beat them tonight to go to 4-3, and send the Saints on a skid to 2-4, after starting 2-0 and looking on fire. The amount of starters on the injury report for the Saints is one of the worst in the league, after just six games.

Speaking of injuries, the Lions now have a staggering 15 players on IR. Granted, most aren't starters or stars, but this is a huge number.

Could be-but did you see how badly Fields missed on some of his downfield throws to open receivers?
Sure but at least Fields can scramble and pick up yards and like Alpe said Wilson has missed plenty of throws. Fields has as many touchdowns as Pickett had each of the last two seasons while only 6 games in. This isn’t prime Wilson, sure he was a little better last year compared to his first Bronco year but he’s not going to be the reason you win games but he’ll be the reason you lose.

They both are well capable of losing games for the Steelers 😄 Definitely would weigh in on Field’s side for the running he brings. We’ll see about the difference in the passing attack. Fields has really not impressed in that regard.

Fields is a top dual-threat QB. He's got RB size & speed (227 lbs/4.46). Currently he's 4th among QB rushing yds (231) behind Jackson, Daniels & Murray but 1st in rushing TDs (5). Granted his passing rating is only 20th (54) and needs improving. But consider Nix has the 5th worst rating at 44, and with the Broncos only at 3-3, Payton isn't entertaining a QB change.

You'd think this one is in the bag for the Broncos but it's TNF with the battle of the rookie QBs & anything can happen. Lol. What concerns me is Surtain II is still out (concussion) & that leaves McMillian & Wallace to share duties at that corner spot - both undersized & slow compared to Surtain II.

Easy win for the Broncos. Saints are more banged up than maybe any team in the NFL right now. The Lions have more players on IR, but the Saints are missing many starters. Forced to play unprepared rookies, guys picked up off the practice squad, cut in preseason, now back. Nix definitely looks the part. Rattler? It's hard to tell. He seemed to push thing too much, but look who he was throwing to. May have had a few days to practice.
Wilson is a downgrade. Only positive is they’re facing the dysfunctional Jets.
Which to me makes even less sense, as the Jets do have a solid D, which has kept them in games. Wouldn't you want the QB who is capable of turning a 2nd and 10 into a 3rd and 2 with his legs on more than a couple drives? Or extend plays when the Jets blanket the receives on their primary route?

If anything this benching could also hurt Fields confidence, right when he's in a position to have it grow. Fields himself guessed he may not have played good enough. But his numbers and play show he's definitely headed in the right direction, and he might be the Steelers QB of the future, and doesn't deserve to lose his job. There is no way Wilson is the Steeler QB of the future, no matter how good he plays against the Jets.
