Steelers proved that the Jets defense isn't all that and the Jets offense still looks clunky. Much improved game by Wilson.

Miami fumbled their way to another loss and their QB play wasn't good enough.

More misery for the 49ers. Aiyuk look's like he's done his ACL. They lose to the Cowboys next week, the playoffs will be tough as they still have to play the Bills, Lions and Packers plus the Buccs game won't be easy either. 49ers day started bad and got worse. Deebo ill before the game and came out early, Jennings was already out then Aiyuk went down and Pearsall was starting his first NFL game after getting shot in the chest ! Chiefs defense was stopping the run game mostly. More special teams issues and the defense couldn't stop Mahomes or his short passing game. Even if they get Greenlaw and CMC back later it could be too late for the 49ers this season. One of Purdy's worst performances with three picks and many wayward throws.

SEA with the win!
-D was pretty solid, but still has to make more initial tackles instead giving up big yards after contact.
-They still need to get their run game going, that is on the backs and the O line.

They need to review EVERY penalty with the 'quick assist'.
-I'm glad that the TERRIBLE call against PIT didn't matter in the end, and that they got another block too!
-Just because the DB gets his head around doesn't mean that he can grab and shove, it just means that he has equal rights to catch the ball.
-Consistency, man!

My guess is Watson will never play in the NFL again. Nice to see Nick Chubb back, scoring a Browns TD.

Goff playing so clutch, was big, like a playoff game that should have been on national TV. Vikings will still be good. Darnold played decent, but didn't step up when it mattered most. Lions are a powerhouse of a team, focused, overcame mistakes, full pedal to the metal. Chiefs may be the only unbeaten team, but the Lions are the best team in the NFL, right now at least.

49er problems are increasingly apparent. They can't block a blitz. Their D cannot get a consistent pass rush. Very inconsistent run game. I was surprised to see Mahomes able to run so much on them.

Impressive win for Packers. Love looked flustered late, but played great in that last drive.

Seattle's upending Atlanta was impressive, especially their offense.

Steelers run game and defense (and the Jets garbage offense), making it easy on Wilson.
Most of what I have read says it's an injury to Watson's Achilles..
Jets victim to football basics, can't turn it over, have to play through the whistle, can't arm tackle, can't make mental errors.
Seahawks good game, San Francisco bad game
Lions pushed the entire game
Russell Wilson looked to be getting in a groove, played @5-10 years younger than he is, looked to be fighting for the job.
I can't believe the quantity of players laying broken everywhere and it's not even the halfway point of the season!! Bet zero on any game!!
Went to a charity mountain bike event, fund raiser for guy w broken collar bone and shoulder, construction worker!! @$10 massive breakfast, I fell 3 times in a day, personal record!!
NFL redzone, game day and network, had me up to date.. 43k in 3hrs5 minutes.. Feel like I played a day in the NFL!!
Against better judgement, I will place a tiny wager on Chargers for the win!!

You’ve pinpointed the thing I get the most about listening to commentators: “he got his head around”!! That is so crazy. We need someone to do a mock video clip showing successfully egregious manhandling of receivers, with the final bit being, “well, the cornerback did pull out hidden knife and slice off three of the receivers fingers, but he got his head so I don’t think its interference.”

Jets are now 0-2 after firing Saleh - nothing like an early season coaching change to get things turned around. Lol
If you look back two weeks at the Jets coaching staff, they had one very good coach, a guy who had their defense playing well, keeping them in games. That coach was Saleh, and they fired him. Now they have no top coaches left.

Rodgers is looking old. He's getting beat up, and doesn't move well anymore.

Adams had zero impact. 3 catches for 30 yards, targeted 9 times, dropped his first pass, a couple more he maybe should have caught in coverage, but didn't.

I doubt caving to Reddick is going to change much of anything, except be even more money on the books.

Who on earth is going to want to coach this team next season??
Miami fumbled their way to another loss and their QB play wasn't good enough.
Keep in mind they were down to Tim Boyle as their QB.

Tua comes off IR this week, and will practice. Will he play on Sunday against AZ? Be the first QB to try the guardian helmet? That's what I'd do. Can't hurt to try the thing.

Chiefs do have an excellent pass defense. But up until this point I had been saying Purdy was not the 49ers problem. He was really playing at a tier 1 elite level, just that the team was struggling. This game he forced a handful of bad throws, looking like the QB his critics say he is.

I watched that entire game, and the Chiefs played solid. They have been playing solid all season. Enough to win. But I think people don't realize how many problems the 49ers have. They do not look like a good team at all right now.

Walker actually played pretty well. They just need to feed him the ball more I thought. Maybe that's what you meant by them needing to get the run game going? If so, I agree. There's a lot to like about this Seattle team, both sides of the ball.

O'Connell to the IR!

Is it Carter Bradley's turn from the practice squad? Lol (btw, he's the son of former NFL coach Gus Bradley).

This is an absolute train wreck in LV. Minshew sucks. Pierce is looking like another one & done HC. Like I said, Madden has to be rolling in his grave at just how low Raider nation has sunk.

Well, didn't I say he should have retired after sustaining the Achilles injury last season? But his ego gets in the way & he can't see the forest through the trees. Last night's game was an absolute joke - he's making a fool out of himself out there. FFS, the Jets with the mighty Rodgers are 2-5 & starting to fall out of playoff contention!

The Jets should have kept Wilson giving him one more year instead of writing him off. Because Wilson isn't going to get any playing time with Nix doing so well & the team winning (Wilson has been a healthy scratch the last couple of games). After seeing the resurrected careers of two guys that I prematurely wrote off, Mayfield & Darnold, I think Wilson deserves another shot. But sitting the bench in Denver isn't going to him any playing experience to improve on his game & determine if he's starting material in this league.

You did say Rodgers should retire. You also wrote off Wilson. He may deserve another shot, it's hard to tell though if he will be like Darnold, or Trubisky his next attempt...

There is no possible way they play him, unless Minshew gets hurt. The Raider OL is a mess. The Rams have a so-so defense, and almost every pass play both O'Connell and Minshew were running for their lives. Minshew must have PTSD at this point the pass protection is so bad. O'Connell was actually playing better than he was, and of course he goes down (Raider report said 6-8 weeks). The Raiders don't need to play Bradley in order to tank, with their OL, and half of their D hurt, on IR or out for the season. The easy part of their schedule is now over. Looming games against KC (twice), Cincy, Atlanta, etc. So, losing should be no problem. This season is a thorw-away. Lose to move up and get a QB in the draft. Treat the rest of the season like it's an extended pre-season, see who has it to come back next year. And in early January new owner Tom Brady will sit at the table, and he and GM Tom Teleco will find the QB and players they want to draft, and who to sign with the $100m in the bank they have, and probably fire Pierce - I hate to say it, but his time at HC was always an experiment - and hire the coach they want. Be that Belicheck, Johnson, Vrabel, Lincoln Riley, etc. and get everyone on the same page, everyone with the same plan, everyone rowing in the same direction. In case anyone is curious, GM Telesco didn't hire Pierce, Mark Davis did. Then he hired Telesco.

What's with the MNF's double-header this deep into the season? I'm watching Bucs-Ravens pregame & didn't realize that the Chargers-Cardinals also play tonight. But the game isn't staggered that much - only a 45 min delayed start after the Bucs-Ravens kickoff.

Is this something new because the only double-headers I remember was the MNF opener in early Sept.

Seems to be. Every so often they do a double header with both games fairly close together.

Yes the Chiefs defense looks as good as last year maybe better. They are the best defense the 49ers have faced along with the Vikings. Now the 49ers have Deebo in hospital with pneumonia. Aiyuk ACL confirmed. Starting to look more like the 2020 season for them. They either go on a run starting next week then they have the benefit of a bye, or their season is close to done with the schedule they have upcoming. I still think the NFC is open while the Chiefs are the obvious favourite in the AFC along with maybe the Ravens. The NFC West could go down to the wire with all four teams separated by two wins so far and none of them are playing much better than the others. If the Hawks manage to get a two win break they might be difficult to run down depending on their schedule and form later,

Evans was clutching his right hamstring. He came into the game with it gimpy. Unless it's torn, he may not miss much time.

Ravens offense increasingly impressive with Henry! D playing better.

Other game was drab. James Connor terrific for Cards. I can't wait for Nomad to see the game, because every time the Chargers got close to the end zone, or when it got to the clutch, Herbert just turned very average.

As I posted before, I will be surprised if the 49ers do well the rest of the way, and 9-8 is even possible, unless a heap of guys heal just in time.

I'll also stand by what I posted before, with this injury Deshaun Watson will likely never play another down in the NFL. The Browns are likely to move on, even if he somehow returns. And no other team will ever sign him.

Connor has been great for the Cards. Rarely plays a bad game. NFC West is going to be a battle all the way it seems Even more so if the Rams get healthy and go on a run.

You have it all wrong typical Charger game only counts as a quarter of a real game.. So it's not right to say 2 games..

Seattle's run defense was absent most of the first half. They seemed to get their sh*t together at halftime, though. They, like SF need to get the O and D line injured back at top level from here on out. I feel bad for Purdy and the walking wounded at SF but, as I heard one of the ESPN guys mention; that's some of the carryover from going deep into every season and eventually it catches up to a team.

On the other hand, Russell Wilson had 3 dink passes that looked like the worst version of his recent play and he was roundly booed by fans. He started to come around the end of the first half with great receiver help. Good luck to the Steelers.
Ravens looked like what their fans hoped they'd be.

Exactly...all their points were from FGs. Every time the Chargers got into Cardinal territory - and in one case the red zone - the drives stall out. That's on Herbert. Harbaugh can only do so much with an offensive game plan that looks effective, a good week of practice, motivational speeches, etc. The rest is up to Herbert to execute & punch the ball into the end zone instead of settling for silly FGs. If he gets the ball into the end zone instead of the FGs, that's 35 points & they easily win the game. And the Chargers are only slightly better vs last year at this time (3-3 vs 2-4). Let's see what happens in the 2nd half of the season but I'm not expecting anything special.

I'm shaking my head on this one. The Lions second leading receiver with 17 grabs & 21 yds average per catch. What's he thinking? It's bad enough with all the injuries hitting offensive players in this league, now he hurts his team with something that was completely preventable. The only constellation is it's a 2 game suspension for the use of a "stimulant", "duerituc" or "masking agent" vs a 6 game hit for the use of an anabolic agent or HGH. Btw, he was suspended 4 games last year for violating the league's gambling policy. Lol.

The more remarkable part is the weak 2-game ban. Would be 2-4 yrs in cycling or athletics.

I'm curious to how many NFL games there have been when QB throws for over 300 yards, the team scores zero TDs, and only penetrates the red zone once.

That doesn't explain why KC is maybe the most healthy team in the NFL. On the flip side, the Raiders haven't been to the playoffs in aeons and about a third of their roster is on the injury report.
