Considering most TNF games border on crap, the Broncos looked okay, and the Chargers looked better than they have in weeks. Herbert earned his keep for sure this week.

And he beat the Broncos twice this year! I guess with that fine performance & decisive win last night, it is safe to say the Chargers are on the pathway to the SB?...hmmm.Good win by the Chargers, both teams look good and can upset someone in wildcard weekend. Word on the street is Herbert dedicated this win to Nomad![]()
Allen for MVP? Nix or Daniels rookie of the year?
Yeah, that kick was interesting to be witness to. The announcers wondered if Harbaugh even realized right away the opportunity he had. I knew the rule so I'm sure he did, though his brain was probably focused on executing a Hail Mary throw until the penalty flag.Bronco D off for the second straight game now. Running game sluggish (McLaughlin was out - next man up was Estime, their 5th rd pick out of ND, and the guy Payton is grooming for primary RB). Nix seems to function better off a strong running game throwing more effectively off of play action
Solid performance by the Chargers & good coaching by Harbaugh (good performance by McConkey). The Chargers were clearly the better team. With the sweep, they hold the tiebreaker. Broncos still holding the 3rd & final WC spot. A win over Cinn next week or losses by both Miami & Indy & they're locked in.
An almost non-existent FG free kick off of a fair catch was successfully done (last one was back in 1976):

I only know the rule from Belichick talking about trying to attempt it in I think the Falcons Super Bowl before overtime but changed his mind. I just remember it was a big game and to break a tie but they were worried that it could be returned if Gostkowski didn’t get enough on it.Yeah, that kick was interesting to be witness to. Even with sarcasm, that's the nicest thing you have ever said about Herbie and the Chargettes!!And he beat the Broncos twice this year! I guess with that fine performance & decisive win last night, it is safe to say the Chargers are on the pathway to the SB?...hmmm.
I just read a bit more about it--Harbaugh was not only well aware of the possibility, but the Chargers special teams go over that scenario every Friday practice. In fact, Harbaugh would have considered trying the kick even without the penalty added yardage. Apparently some of the Chargers' players were confused and Herbert was still thinking he was going to go out to throw the Hail Mary!I only know the rule from Belichick talking about trying to attempt it in I think the Falcons Super Bowl before overtime but changed his mind. Compare that to Shanahan and the 49ers not understanding how overtime rules work in last year's SB. Props to Harbaugh. You know, the 49ers old coach that Baalke and the Yorks drove away.
Rookie of the year should go to Brock Bowers. He's on an absolutely terrible team, with no QB, few other recievers on the team, no RB than can catch the ball, and he's still breaking every rookie TE record.
MVP will likely be Allen, unless Lamar passes him in the last couple games.
Coach of the year. My money is on Dan Campbell, or Kevin O'Connell.
Last year was a QB, but if my memory serves me correctly* it is an award dominated by RBs.Bo should definitely get votes. Despite what people may assume, unlike MVP, quarterbacks don't dominate ROY awards.
Shades of Dave Casper?Rookie of the year should go to Brock Bowers. He's on an absolutely terrible team, with no QB, few other recievers on the team, no RB than can catch the ball, and he's still breaking every rookie TE record.
“The Gunslinger” needs to work on his medium to long accuracy, which could be hampered from his ankle injury though he’s had issues all season. But if the ankle was messed up he didn’t show it, he just got hit a lot at least in the parts of the game I saw. The defense is looking elite again, the whole running back room is steam rolling the competition and hard to bring down. The offense is just driving down the field methodically but if they can get those medium to long pass misses ironed out they could be back to their high flying offense. The way Steelers are playing the last few weeks Chiefs should win that game by a 7-10 lead as well. Only question would be if they rest everyone an extra week against Broncos.Chiefs win by 8 . They looked absolutely dangerous firing on all cylinders & playing with tremendous enthusiasm. Turnover free football vs 2 costly turnovers by the Texans (Stroud 2 picks). The Gunslinger was on fire throwing for 260 (1 TD) & rushing for 33 including a TD run. Worthy the leading the receiver with 7 grabs & a score (what a rookie season he's having!). The debut of Hollywood Brown since his major injury back in preseason went well with 5 catches. Rushing game looked good with Pacheco & Hunt rotating. Chiefs can clinch the #1 seed with one more win or a Bills loss to NE tomorrow (unlikely).
Sad note for the Texans - Tank Dell hospitalized with a serious leg/knee injury. Big blow for the Texans more than likely losing their 2nd leading receiver for the remainder of the season.

Plus Hopkins is a huge, big deep threat as well. It’d be hard for any defense to protect against a Mahomes scramble, Kelce catch, deep shot by Hollywood or Worthy, ol’reliable in Hopkins, and the bruising run game. I don’t think he’d play, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he personally wants to play and has to be talked out of it.Exactly, with Hollywood back they have 2 of the fastest speedsters with Worthy playing so well. Imagine the nightmare that's going to give DCs & DB coaches. If they lock up #1, I can't imagine they would play Mahomes in a completely meaningless game against the Broncos? I would think the car keys would be given to Wintz & let him have some playing time.
The hate on Mahomes by you is unreal. I guess you don't appreciate a real generational talent (look at all the phonies out there like the next "Peyton Manning" Lol). Sure, it wasn't anything off the charts - basically just another day at the office with 260 throwing & another 33 rushing & no picks. The run he made for the score drilling the defender with his shoulder I thought was impressive - he definitely wanted to punch it in. Stuff like that will fire up your team (though I bet Reid doesn't want him doing that).I didn't see the same dominant play from Gunslinger that Nomad did. More workman-like. Questionable calls did go to KC as usual, but that only means so much when there were two picks by CJ that hurt the Texans. It was a good win for KC. Kind of predictable though.
