Nice FG, Eagles!

Geebuz, Mahomes just got sacked again, I think he'll be a little sore tomorrow.

I had very few expectations of this Super Bowl, but when a game is this much of a blowout it's a bummer and it's hugely anticlimactic. I think the playoffs can be vastly more exciting.

Chiefs have had two penalties go their way, the OPI on Brown that would have had Eagles in scoring position and the false start on the field goal kick that would have given the Eagles new down. Otherwise they’re actually starting to flag the Chiefs for things they ve gotten away with before. Chiefs also have had some big drops that killed any chance of a drive. They catch some of those balls and maybe the score isn’t like this. Alpe is definitely missing a game they would have enjoyed so far.
I think all of that is extraneous. . . It's been years since I've seen a 4-man front get to the passer like this, and you can tell Mahomes, for all his talent, wasn't used to it.

Two-minute warning, a very painful 2 minutes for KC fans I'm sure. (If they're still even watching.)
Got me thinking about the Dutch guy I was sitting with at the 10,000 skating final at the Vancouver Winter Olympics . . . after briefing looking glum at the shock of their golden-boy skater losing gold by getting disqualified, he got up and said, "it's okay we'll just drink more." :)

Sven Kramer? (I had to google the Vancouver Olympics because while I did watch them back then the memory is a bit fuzzy.)

Congrats to the Eagles for their second SB title. Well done Jalen Hurts MVP. I think with him winning a SB as MVP that moves him into that elite QB category & future HOF conversation.

This game proves a few things:

1) The game is not rigged for KC. In fact, the last thing the commissioner would want is a blowout by Philly which turns away viewers & hurts advertising.

2) It's impossible for a team to 3-peat. With the parity in this league, it's extremely difficult to win a SB let alone 2 in a row which is extraordinary & doesn't happen very often. Consider that star QBs like Allen, Jackson, Prescott, Burrow, etc, may never win a SB. So many try...so few accomplish it.

3) KC wasn't as good as their season record indicated. There were games they should have lost. They should have lost to the Bills in AFCCG. Because they can't be the AFC's best getting hammered like they did. It was downright embarrassing. Lol.

It'll be interesting to see how KC rebounds from this next season. Could we see the beginning of the demise of the Chiefs? Maybe the changing of the guard in the AFC West?

My, my, my. Look at what we have here. Got home from work, and it looks like I missed an interesting 56 minutes of the game. But I'm good watching the last 4 minutes.
C'mon Alpe, this must have been a total shocker for you. I bet you thought you were in a parallel universe or something? Lol. You practically guaranteed a Chiefs win last week. The way the Chiefs played today I don't think they could have beaten Ohio St. Lol.

At the professional level it's just understood that starters have worked all year, all their lives to play in a Super Bowl, The Super Bowl. I had too many amateur feelings of why Eagles coach was not putting in second string, getting guys off the bench to not run up the score, just wasn't meant to be..
KC just didn't show up.. Dismal and disappointing..
Score doesn't reflect how KC got destroyed.

Halftime is going to be a culture wars nuclear weapon

Couldn’t watch the second half with sound since I was at work but that was just the Super Bowl I needed. The Eagles came to play and their defense completely dominated the Chiefs until the whole team was run down. It’ll be interesting to see the Chiefs next year and offensively with Rice back depending on any suspensions. Game was well out of hand till the late game pick ups. Still no three peat and Eagles have stopped both attempts at one.

I was at work. Sort of a parallel universe.

Well, I did say the Eagles would need to be up by more than two TDs late to win. ;). But I don't know anyone who predicted this. I only got to watch much of the condensed footage (and last couple minutes live), but this game was won at the line of scrimmage. Both sides of the ball. Very impressive OL and especially DL by the Eagles. But Hurts really impressed me too. True leader of his team. I don't need to sit and watch the replay of it all to know that.

KC won several games this year by the skin of their teeth, and they probably shouldn't have beaten the Bills in the AFCC game. This was a game where they didn't get the bounces or favorable calls, and really got beat by a better team. The garbage points by the Chiefs made the game seem almost closer than it was, but it was over in 2Q. A total blowout beatdown by the Eagles.

It will be hard for Philly to repeat, it always is, but they are obviously loaded with talent. An extremely well built roster, focusing on the trenches, and proving a good QB taken in the 2nd round can win a SB.

As to KC, I'm not sure how much longer Kelce will keep playing, though he has one more year left at $19m. The Chiefs also have a lot of money in a few players. Jones, Thuney, Jawawn Taylor, and of course Mahomes, with numerous players under contract for next year, some beyond. I bring this up because they are built to take pretty much the same team into 2025, add Rice, lose Hunt maybe. But pretty much the same. Will that be enough? And how long is Reid going to keep coaching? This one had to really hurt.
