New Forum! Feedback thread

Page 2 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
It took me a good hour and a half to actually get logged in, which is an inauspicious start, and the overwhelming feeling is that it's very, very narrow. Like, half a dozen words and you spill onto another line narrow. I know brevity isn't my strong point, but I can't help but feel that's going to be an issue at times for readability in megathreads and those threads where long and detailed posts are the norm, such as Eshnar's Giro stage thread introductions or the Race Design Thread. And the top of each page feels like the choice of forum software has been built on amount of advertising space available.

Maybe once I'm used to some of the new features it'll feel more intuitive, but as things stand, I'd rather have forum that makes actual discussion (as opposed to chit-chat) easy to read than the opportunity to earn trophies if people like my posts.

Just click to the middle of what?
At the bottom of the page between 'prev' and 'next'. But I clearly misunderstood what PeterB's issue is, I thought he doesn't know how to get to the specific page. And still need to scroll all the way down. I see 2 arrows that should help with that, but only 'up' works for me

Where the number of pages is, if you click that you can select a page. You still have to scroll through longer than the Torah to get there...
On my mobile screen there is no number of pages. There is a number on the PC version. There is a number of posts on the mobile screen, to the right of the thread name, clicking on which takes you to the first page, where you then have to do the scroll and scroll and scroll thing and click again.

It looks like clicking on the date of the most recent post (below the thread title) takes you to the latest page (but don't click on the poster's name, that's a profile link).

Ah ok, I meant the page numbers when you are in the thread and have scrolled down through the book of the dead (I’m going to run out of scroll references soon, not sure ninja scroll cuts it...).

The date works for me, thanks for pointing that out.

By the way, devs confirmed that yeah, the last 24 hrs of posts are lost forever.
Yes, and sincere apologies to anyone who lost their content during the migration. I spent hours trying to turn the old board into read only mode. Unfortunately the old forum software was pretty much non-responsive in the back end. Very few if any changes would "stick". While the loss is unfortunate, the good news is that this type of issue will never occur in the future. Well, let's not say never, but it is highly, extremely, very unlikely ;)

Another suggestion - can the avatars of users who created the thread be removed from the list of threads? I find it quite useless and it is not only distracting, but also misleading (e.g. Jumbo rider is pictured next to Ineos thread...).

All registered users should be exempt from ads. If this is not the case, please let me know and provide a screenshot if you can. Thanks!
Nine times in ten, I'm not logged in when using the site.

Further, the site has a large number of long-time lurkers, never-time posters. The excessive amount of real estate taken up by intrusive ads will not help retain them, or convert them to logged-in users.
