ya stylish people :p

its true that usually my favourite kits are from italian teams but thats not only because of the design but also because they are the only teams that stay faithful to the true essence of a cycling kit, which imo is looking good while still making yourself noticeable. most anglo saxon teams look good but their kits don' have flashy happy colours so they don't stand out as much, and spanish team usually stand out but not for the best reasons (footon the best example) belgiuns are somewhere in the middle of italians and anglo saxons on that aspect

Agree with all this.

The true essence of all those italian neon-orange/green/yellow team jerseys full of sponsor logos:

They're
all
ugly as hell! :D

I would've liked even more lime green. Lime green FTW!!!

+1. The lime green screams Liquigas. No idea why they left the white on the front. At least the lime green backs will make them easier to see in the helicopter shots.

i would take those ugly kits over the boring bland kits any day, at least they have personality. any1 can make a black/white/grey kit add a secondary colour and claim to have a top of the line design kit, almost if not all colours go well with black.

also funny enough every1 seems to remember those "ugly" kits and their sponsors name while i highly doubt the bland/standard kits and their sponsors will be remembered as well in a couple years.

Hasn't Chavanel already been pictured with a 'full tricolour' national jersey in 2012?

Also WTF is wrong with these people? National champs jerseys are universally loved by the fans. Why does everyone insist on ****ing them up all of a sudden.

This is definitely a jacked-up trend! I'm surprised the riders themselves aren't up in arms about it. Winning one's national championship is a real honor and to have the entire experience of representing one's country's colors minimized to the point of almost invisibility is insulting. It's even more so with Chavanel's where they gave him an area on his kit so insignificant in size that he won't even be distinguishable in the peloton. Shameful.

Edit: Was later pointed out as being just a wind-vest, so I was bit quick to respond without reading the subsequent posts.

+1 I wish more federations had the huevos of the Italian Federation and banned designs that didn't meet a reasonable standard. I think the problem could come from sponsors since they can't dominate a national championship kit like they can a normal kit. The viewers eyes are more attracted to the championship kit (were they should be) than to the sponsor's logo

One of the ugliest imo. I didn't follow cycling much in the Mapei years, but I remember that when I watched I always thought who the hell designed those ugly outfits.

Personally I thought the 1998 Mapei kit was kind of ugly, at least compared to their glorious 1995-1997 kit.

When on the bike the Liquigas riders will be totally blue seen from the right and totally green when seen from the left. That might be confusing in the middle of a race. Just saying.

I am not one for bright neon colours, but then again the jerseys are not for hanging in a museum, they are supposed to be visible and easily reckognizable in a race. And I like when the teams stick to their colours year after year.

I really like the back of that Liquigas kit. Great kit. But the fact that the kit has totally different colours on each side might be a tad confusing during a race

i don't think there will be any issue with it, i think its impossible to get an angle of that kit that doesn't show lime green
