From looking at the photos of the Tour of San Luis, I am starting to really like the Omega Pharma Quickstep jersey, and Chavanel national champion jersey is awesome (why oh why can't all national jersey's use the WHOLE jersey?!?!). The team jersey looks very distinctive and classy imho.

Phil's customised bike. The colours make me think he is the German national champion.

Nice one, like nearly all the French jerseys this year.

Liking that

have been checking the San Luis photos and not seen anything of the Caja Rural, anyone seen in the race? looked nice originally but difficult to tell until you see it in action.

Phil's BMC looks like a farm gate in that shot. Fugly.

Not liking the new Europcar kit... Blandsville.

It's hard to design a decent jersey with the ugly Big Mat logo. This one is doing a good job with the one-coloured background. It'd be even better if you imagine all riders in black shoes without those terrible neon yellow shoe laces...
I kinda liked the yellow one they had in the mid 90'ies

Black in the German flag is on the other side... but you can't see that on this bike, since it's all black.

German flag is horizontal stripes, Belgian flag is vertical stripes. They used a different more shiney black for the black line of the Belgian flag if you look closely enough.

Funninly enough, you're thinking about our original flag back in 1830 which was this:

What is with the kits this year that have a band of color at the bottom of the jerseys? The Omega Pharma Quick Step kit has one (see the photo of Boonen & Chichi crossing the finish) as does the Katusha and the Sigma team kit in the post before this one.

I was really liking the OPQS kit until I saw the band/ belt/ cumberbun.

Yes, I was thinking about your original flag 🙄

Horizontal or vertical stripes don't matter if they're skewed, like they are on this bike.

It's clearly vertical unless you're a blind mole. It matters because the stripes are longer in length than they are in width. Hence it's clearly a Belgian flag instead of a German flag.

now, turn the bike round, and you have black background, with red then gold stripe. On the other side it looks like a German flag.

On the photo we have, it looks like a Belgian flag. Except for the bit on the front fork, where the stripe continues so that it looks like a horizontal German flag stripe.

Not that it really matters when we see him on the bike bedecked in a Belgian flag, it isn't going to matter whether it looks a bit different on the bike. The German champion right now is having to deal with the worst German champion's kit (and that is one of the hardest of all kits to screw up, being perfect in its simplicity) in living memory, thanks to Radioshack-Nissan-Trek and their awful, awful jerseys.

Interesting that BMC are no longer using Speedplay pedals.

very much, what is it ? 😛

I assume this must be Christian Helmig, Luxembourger riding for Elbowz Racing ... I don't know why he has a national champion's jersey though? Of course he is not the road champion and I am quite certain he got beaten by Gusty Bausch in the cyclocross championships last month ... or is it an old picture? Nice jersey indeed though!

edit: I see that he is the reigning road champion of "elite sans contrat", so basically amateurs. Maybe he's allowed to wear that on an amateur team then
