Rodríguez' (and Gutiérrez', Plaza's and Sánchez's since they all had the same one) NC jersey did however stick to the format of a Spanish jersey (tricolore design, red at top and bottom and gold in the middle), but incorporated it into the carbon fading pattern of the team. Had Pozzato gone with the three bands, but the green was in the skyline form and the red was just a thin band, then I think the Italian authorities would have been OK with it.

Rather like Pliuschin:

and Kushchynski:

Similarly, if the red bottom band and bib shorts had to remain, maybe if he made the rest of the jersey down to the skyline pattern green, and then the skyline part white, so that it clearly resembled an Italian tricolore like Visconti's current jersey, then they may have let it slide, as it's clearly an Italian champions' jersey, just incorporated into the team's general aesthetic, like Rodríguez' Spanish jersey (and Brard's French one whilst at Caisse too). You could argue for the two US champion's jerseys at Radioshack this year under that too, definitely the best looking US champions' jerseys in years.

Movistar's, Leopard's and Liquigas' NC jerseys neither uphold the classic or traditional designs of the jerseys, nor incorporate them into the team's scheme other than as a jarring afterthought.

TBH it seems as though they CBF putting any effort in. Remember when Levi Leipheimer was the American RR Champion? That jersey wanted to make me poke my eyes out.

I never really liked the Rabobank jersey, but for some reason it looks really good to me right now?

It's Pauline! She's going to be huge. Super talent. Off road and on it, already a World Champ in both MTB and road racing. I take it that's definitely the women's team's kit? Or is it just the off-road one, since Pauline will likely be doing some 'cross before the season starts?

So Renshaw can start wearing the Rabo kit even if he's still under contract with HTC but Valverde can't because he's still banned? Just trying to get this new kit timeline down. Sometimes it makes sense than at other times its just total nonsense.

Not that I don't want Renshaw to wear his new kit, I think he did good splitting up with Cav, more sprint duels are needed.

Team presentation is probably fine, out on the bike (in any circumstances) is not.

.

I assumed the problem was the skyline aspect but if they have those two standard designs that they approve of I can see why they weren't happy. Frankly I think the original Pozzato jersey is much better than the Pliuschin and Kushchynski efforts. The way they have outline the skyline is reminiscent of a child's landscape picture where everything is outlined in black felt tip.

One thing is for sure the National colours should dominate the jersey regardless of the specific design.

On another note those new Giant frames slope way too much for my liking - they're practically BMX geometries. Maybe they are making them more durable for all Gesinks crashes;)
