Libertine Seguros said:Rodríguez' (and Gutiérrez', Plaza's and Sánchez's since they all had the same one) NC jersey did however stick to the format of a Spanish jersey (tricolore design, red at top and bottom and gold in the middle), but incorporated it into the carbon fading pattern of the team. Had Pozzato gone with the three bands, but the green was in the skyline form and the red was just a thin band, then I think the Italian authorities would have been OK with it.
Rather like Pliuschin:

Similarly, if the red bottom band and bib shorts had to remain, maybe if he made the rest of the jersey down to the skyline pattern green, and then the skyline part white, so that it clearly resembled an Italian tricolore like Visconti's current jersey, then they may have let it slide, as it's clearly an Italian champions' jersey, just incorporated into the team's general aesthetic, like Rodríguez' Spanish jersey (and Brard's French one whilst at Caisse too). You could argue for the two US champion's jerseys at Radioshack this year under that too, definitely the best looking US champions' jerseys in years.
Movistar's, Leopard's and Liquigas' NC jerseys neither uphold the classic or traditional designs of the jerseys, nor incorporate them into the team's scheme other than as a jarring afterthought.
TBH it seems as though they CBF putting any effort in. Remember when Levi Leipheimer was the American RR Champion? That jersey wanted to make me poke my eyes out.
