I guess I'm the only one here who's happy about Martin Fourcade winning. He truly deserves it, in my opinion.

Svendsen seems to have gone from incredibly strong to useless in just a couple of weeks. I've never seen him skiing that badly, even his technique seems to be off. Lower frequency than usual and no power.

Must say I didn't really care about MFourcade winning a gold, as long as Bjørndalen would take a medal atleast. Now I'm just left with the worst possible result of this pursuit. Bjørndalen missing medal by 1sec (clearly one of the strongest today, missing 3 shots), combined with 2 frenchmen on the podium is just unbearable. Svendsen just doesn't look like he's in form, maybe due to the fact that he skipped altitude-training. In form he would have taken bronze today.
Hopefully Berger can take it tomorrow. If she shoots well and stays in contact with the leaders after 4th shooting, she will leave them in the dust on that final lap. :D

What's you problem?

Same guy wins everything, easily, while justifying showboating and mocking the opposition by saying he needs to play games with his opponents to focus. It's boring, and while he can be quite funny away from the trails, as soon as he straps skis on he turns into an arrogant ******.

When races become predictable they become dull, and having the same person able to podium 90% of the races they enter is a very quick way to make things dull. Same as why I don't watch races with Chris Froome in them and Marit Bjørgen bores me to tears. I've been hoping for Martin to get beaten and beaten badly for a couple of years now, and since it isn't happening, and in fact he's increasing the frequency with which he wins without breaking a sweat and increasing the frequency of displays of arrogance and egregious over-celebration, I just want him gone, so that the races can be a bit open again. Right now nobody is going to win anything unless he has a bad day. You wouldn't believe how hard I was cheering for Moravec at Holmenkollen last year.

looking forward to skating sprints :)

since we really have only 2 real contenders among women, i will skip watching them until the finals. but among men, the field is as exciting and deep as a fan can dream.

impossible to predict the winner. petter's best chance for a sochi gold is in sprints. my sense is he may medal but not necessarily win. i can also see him not making the finals and hattestad besting him among the norges.

it will be crazy tactical because of the huge last hill. all teams, particularly the russians, have prepared various tactical moves.

everyone knows each other's strong sides...northug's finishing acceleration, jonsson's speed and strength, kriukov's awesome double polling, cologna's patience and endurance.

i wont be surprized if harvey, wenzl and ustiugov form the podium.

it is THAT unpredictable.

Arrogance, over celebration, mocking oposition...this reminds me defferent guy, Svendsen. Aren't you his fan? Last time Fourcade was ok and got beaten - was two days ago. And in Antholz. Thus I don't understand what you are talking about.

No, I don't really like Svendsen either. If I cheer for him, it's only in races where there's no option other than him and Fourcade, and then it's just because he's the lesser of two evils.

Fourcade has been on the podium in over 80% of the races in the calendar year, not counting Ruhpolding where he didn't show up. Sorry, that's predictable and boring. And like I said, for a long time I've cheered against him, now I am so sick of him I just want him to go away. Maybe if I'm lucky, he'll win all the rest of the races here then decide he's achieved all he can do and retire like Neuner did.

Anyone think Marit Bjoergen will run the table like Yelena Valbe at the 97 world championships? I think she has a real shot at it. We'll see what happens.

Do you like OEB?

Don't know...but to be sick of somebody just because he's good at what he's doing just doesn't sound right to me. It's his job. For instance, if he was very good doctor, one of the best in his specialization, would you say you are sick of him? Juset because he!s good?

Damn, epic fail by Wenzl:(:(

Concerning Fourcard. He maybe a winner, but he'll never be a champion.

The women's sprint course is awfully short imo.

they have 3-4 more men to go, it looks like all norges, all swedes, and all russian are in. all swedes are in the top 15, northug the slowest norge. hattestad is stud - impressive !

Uh, that track doesn't suit Wenzl at all so I don't see where the big surprise is.

Yeah, but loosing 10 seconds, is a buffer. Didn't excpect a good result, but that's a really poor.

Seems like Northug won't medal in this one , too.

i don't think it is the track favouring true sprinters, rather, given the lessons of last year's pretrials, they had time to improve their endurance thru more distance training. i also don't see this wenzl's failure as a track issue. the spread between 1st and 30th is almost 10 seconds, northug lost 8 seconds etc.

i saw those who started earlier mostly did better... possibly due to the later starters had to plow through a beat up soft track.

harvey's 17 second gap is the biggest surprise...again, i am talking about my observations and not anyone's else.
