Apparently she double poled because of her injury and didn’t look to disappointed in the interview afterwards.

So why did she race if she’s injured, still? To stat pad?

Free World Cup overall points with the Norskies not here. She got the win in the 10k, and as long as she didn't overexert herself and exacerbate the injury - which clearly she doesn't seem to be too bothered by so far, although of course she has said it's more of an issue in Classic than skate - then anything she got today was bonus.

She’s put out a statement on Instagram tonight. Basically she can do every thing except of striding in diagonal without any risk. In Engadin there are two skate races, then in Cogne she’s probably gonna try double poling again in the sprint race. It’s 4 weeks until the next classic distance race, might be enough time - might not.

But Anger raced the whole final from the front and made it hard for everyone. That was an impressive performance on such a course.

Yes, Anger used the same strategy as Ogden in the semi-final but unlike him he was successful, clearly has taken a step forward this season.

It’s only 4 races in this time span and 1 of them is a classic race. Given its 2 classic races and 1 skate race this weekend it is balanced in this time of the season.

I wasn't referring to the final but to some of the heats and semifinals (Jouve, Ogden, Stoelben, even if it wouldn't have mad a difference) though I also don't understand why Sundling needs to take the front at 1:15 min.

Ah okay, I thought you talked about the womens final as you mentioned Skistad. For a skier like Sundling this is a very hard course to get it right, because there isnt a hill big enough to really play on her strength, and we have seen before that Skistad some times have gotten tired in the end of sprint days when she hasnt been in top form and there were definitively reasons to doubt her form this time as she hasnt raced much this season and it is hard to read much from the Norwegian NC. So by taking the front and keep the pressure up, atleast you give yourself a chance to crack Skistad. And then when it doesnt succeed its easy to point to the alternative of course.

I know why Le Grand Bornand has it, but from a course perspective I'd really rather the French biathlon World Cup round be here in Prémanon.

Yes, it‘s great, it just appears a bit out of place when you compare it to most other courses.

Replacement commentator (probably to do with the short turnaround before the biathlon, but I like to think it's because Patrick is too inconsolable after Diggins elected not to start) pointing out that while this may be a great course for the sprint, "it might be fast becoming everybody's least favourite course for the distance". I'm assuming that he means for the competitors suffering with 7 times up that hill, because Scott Dixon on co-commentary duty laughs and says "ah, but it's great".

Samuelsson would beat them.

Lægreid getting closer and closer to JTB, it would be funny if he finally wins the overall in Bø last season.

In the meantime, Karlsson seems to be peaking nicely for the XC Worlds.
