If the moron who wrote this fluff piece had any idea about PED's, he'd know that athletes on a doping regimen don't feel any pain.

Don't believe me? Inject some HgH and go do some hill intervals.

You'll be at it again the next day with no problems. And the day after that, and the day after that.

People will comment on how hard you work and how dedicated you are to cycling-next thing you know you'll start believing that it's you and not the drugs.

Just like Lance.

Uh, I will have to take your word on that one Berzin, my bicycle is in the shop with a flAT.

The point is, they are talking about what it takes to win in endurance sports but dont include doping. Its not just about LA. They talk about how much faster you can go by fighting pain and checking out the courses beforehand, when we know full well that most endurance athletes have been winning through doping.

I think the "winning through doping" aspect is way too simplistic.

Take Lance for example - the doping was but one arrow in his quiver of awesomeness.
Only one item packed into his suitcase of courage.

It takes much more than doping to be the best of the best.
A champion's champion if you will:

No, Darryl, it is not a cliche. Or a myth for that matter.

If you look at the list of what made Lance stand apart from others, it is unique. What made Lance stand out over everyone else?

Doping? That is one of the very few things everyone else did lol.
The most common attribute on the list is what set Lance apart?

C'mon. Seriously?

I will help here. What LeMond, Merckx and Hinault had. A complete determination to win. Over everything over marriage over children, family, nothing else mattered. Completely selfish, self absorbed, dedicated. Check the video, run it over and over. That is what it takes to win. Laser-like focus, in all aspects 24-7. With LeMond and Lance the focus was even more refined, for Le Tour.

I`d go take an enema and clear some of that XXXX blockage going on...must be might uncomfortable.
Nothing on that list is "stand out" all are cliche`s given by appoligists and many are applicable to many of the best of the best.
The one thing not on the list that realy separates the greats from the almost greats is humility.
The only great list Lance should be on is greatest scams.

Watch the Lances tour wins on video. Humility or arrogance the guy was the greatest. Watch his tactics his team the competitors.... its epic. I never followed him till 2009 although I started watching cycling in the 70s. You gotta see the Lance videos. Phil, Paul, Roll et al Ghrahm Watson they got it nailed with Lance. He was epic.

New article releases a bombshell: The Secret of Elite Athletes

Apparently Lance just deals w/ pain better than the rest of us.

That, and he thought to ride Alpe d'Huez before actually racing over it.

Brilliant stuff!! :p

the writer of that stupid article should consult & ask Chris Carmichael, Allen Lim, Michelle Ferrari & even Don Catlin how much mental toughness & pain threshold can increase/improve an Athlete's Htc/blood values.....;)

Name one. Even leave off #6 (doping) if you have to.

And humble?
Lance is as humble as Eddy or Hinault or LeMond.

Was the "Molteni Train" squeaky clean? They looked good too....
Were they real?

Was Eddy clean? Was Eddy real?

Was Eddy humble while he was devouring people? How about the Badger?

Anyway, back to the original topic.
Yes, Eddy and Bernard and Lance were tough and more oblivious to Pain than the average Pro. GRRRR.

Lances' awesomeness being enhanced by unlimited use of testosterone, HgH and that funny little non-compete clause he had with Dr. Ferarri...

Yes, Armstrong had what it took to be a champion, yes indeed.

The ability to not feel remorse when lying to all his cancer-stricken brethren is more like it.

But that's about to end. So you tossers who shall remain nameless (lest I get banned), keep at it.

It is your last gasp to make total and complete fools of yourselves.

Is Generosity covered under number 22 ETC? I'm thinking of the lovely gift of $????? he gave to the UCI in his prime;)

Only sort of provoking, I'm kinda enjoying your outright unabashed Lance love in this thread:)
