Call me crazy, but it seems to me Vingegaard is starting his season riding stage races differently this year.

It's no longer en "inexperienced" captain needing heavy support and riding a controlled/controlling race, but rather a Pogacar-style captain doing it by himself, even long range.

It is a style of riding which will help him start to contest hilly 1-day races, in a not too distant future :)

He rode every stage race last year this way as well, except for Paris-Nice where he wasn't that good. He just never gets credit for it.

He rode like this last year as well and no, Pogacar, Van der Poel etc. will still murder him if he decides to focus more on one day races
