of course he's relaxed.
he bought the friggin chairman.
why else would he be so confident / relaxed? why not the slightest bit of doubt?
only thing i can think of is that he's already had a personal guarantee that he's going to get off.
I sure hope I'll be proven wrong.

Oh for God's sake, your tinfoil hat has obviously been too tight on your head for too long now. Give it a rest already. You have been shown over and over that that your "chairman has been bought"-argument is terminally flawed. If you only have Becca in your corner any sane person would be getting worried that he might be getting it wrong. Not you, you just keep harping on. Neither WADA nor the UCI felt any need to get rid off the presiding panel. That should tell you enough. Next thing you know you will be convincing us that the moon landing is one big conspiracy also.

Regards
GJ

PS I heard a rumor that AC is really an extraterrestrial, which should explain his phenomenal physical capabilities. The rumor also states that that is exectly the reason why the verdict is taking so long. How on earth are the gonna conceal that fact. Then again the panel might already have been blitzed by the men in black (not not Vino this time), so it's anybody's guess now. :D

Valverde won his last race before getting banned. One can say that he arguably had the best year of his career between the CONI and the worldwide bans.

There is at least some evidence against AC, so any terrestrial would think this is 50-50 call. Can go both ways. If he gets banned, his life changes for good. It would worry me, I tell you.
Apparently it doesn't worry him. How come? I think he IS extraterrestrial, or at least a great visionary.

btw. Becca just connected some dots. He might well be wrong, but CAS thought it was serious enough to ring the alarmbells and to publicly deny.
I don't recall George Bush ever publicly denying that the USA bombed the twin-towers. Now that was a conspiracy theory.

You're still a funny guy.

Though, why not give some poor old Spanish farmer (or more, just in case) a very nice pension in exchange for a testimony? It would have been cheap, easy and success (almost) guaranteed. If he was only half the crook you think he is, he would have done it. I would have...

Maybe he tried that and no one would take his money, because the meat industry is worth more than a guy who can ride a bike well with a little 'help';)

Worth more money? That's the reason why farmers, especially in Southern and Eastern Europe, can only keep their heads above water with aid from the EU. And luxury those guys always seem to have. A decent house, car, healthy teeth? But lots of land most of the time, that's for sure...

Now I think of it: this guy already voted for Contador. Looks clear to me what happened there, but I assume Sniper will investigate the issue more properly...

some people cant be bought. Sell out your industry might mean selling out your neighbours and family and you'll be surprises that there are people who dont take the bread.

But seeing as you know whats happened, do spill or do you expect a payment?

This tripe about buying witnesses and/or the CAS panel is utterly bizarre. It doesn't work like that I'm afraid - ask yourselves a simple question: How much?

Bertie is, no doubt, doing very nicely, but he hasn't got that sort of spending power. A star within the cycling community, no doubt, but he isn't the Great Gatsby.

Honestly, I like a conspiracy theory as much as the next paranoid delusional nutter, but this is going a little bit too far.

It's all pretty straightforward. Corrupting the banking system, the media, and CAS is the path to world domination by Da Joos. If they can get a World Tour team training camp in Israel out of it then all the better.

i never made an argument that Contador bought anybody, i made the case for the opposite.

I dont see an industry rolling over for a star from a minority sport never mind a mainstream sport.

work like what?
If AC (or Saxo) bribed anybody (emphasizing IF), we can only speculate about how the deal was done, how the money (or cookies, hookers, or whatever) flew, who promised what to whom, etc.
We're still in the dark as to how Lance bribed the UCI.
we know it happened, but everybody's still guessing where and how the money flew. In other words, we are still guessing how it worked. But it worked alright.

Not to speak about rumors of bribery in the world of, say, football (FIFA, UEFA). Of course, these are just rumors, but are you willing to claim that they are conspiracies? Nah... but how does it work? You tell me. Bribes come in different shapes.

Of course, CAS is not FIFA or UCI, and CAS has a much greater level of independency, I assume.
But the world of sports is too corrupt to not accept the idea of CAS panel members being bribed as a possibility at the very least.

Oh the irony...

@Lance. I guess it's clear that I'm not really a conspiracy minded guy, but in this case it's pretty clear how things worked isn't it, even before it became a conspiracy-theory? I mean it was Hein Verbruggen himself who told that Lance donated money to pay for testing equipment (allegedly to test the Euskaltel guys). It was in a Dutch radio interview, if I remember correctly...

thanks for confirming: so it started as a conspiracy, turned out not to be, and we still don't know where the money went.

You won't get any confirmation from me, I'm not into conspiracy...

Since you definitely seem to be, I guess there's (even more) work for you to do. Take Verbruggen's statements (donation from Armstrong, payment of machine) in one hand, and all the UCI reports/accounts in the other, dig deep and produce your theory...

Look for donation income, 'other income' or anti doping payments on one side and expenses on the other and try to match it. Maybe you can even find a very suspicious rise in some allowances...;)

To return to AC: I'm not claiming he bribed anybody. I'm just saying that
1. AC's lawyer is good friends with Barak
2. Saxo undertook an unexpected trainingcamp in Israel
3. AC already seems to know he's going to get off, although the decision is officially still pending

What I am claiming is this: lawyers can be bought.
I'm not saying it happened in this particular case. I'm merely saying it could have.
Now, if you open your mind for the possibility that it could have happened, then facts 2 and 3 above are quite easily accounted for. They might (but need not) correlate with fact 1.

But the world of sports is too corrupt to not accept the idea of CAS panel members being bribed as a possibility at the very least.

We know about Armstrongs payments from multiple sources - so much that the UCI had to confirm it.
The UCI could dismiss any rumours or suspicion of corruption by producing the accounts, receipts and documents that they posses - we know why they don't.

CAS on the other hand have nothing to do with that side of sport - it is a legal mechanism to facilitate mediation or arbitration of sporting disputes.
Any decision they make will in time be publicly available and can also be appealed through the Swiss Courts.

1) Whom is? Having seen each other makes you good friends? Who of his Lawyers is good friends with Barak? Adam Lewis? Andy Ramos? Mike Morgan? Antonio Rigozzi?

2) Ever heard of a Ran Margaliot? He didn't get a contract because he's the most talented rider out there. Nice camp, paying his own salary, interesting connections and meetings with potential financial backers...

3) He never did anything else, he has always maintained his story and kept on racing for better or worse. Why would that suddenly change, when he has done everything he can do and, regardless a possible ban, the toughest moments already behind him?

By the way, it's a miracle to me how it's possible to see that it seems that 'someone knows he's getting off'. Although I won't say it's impossible that, when the decision was made, he already got a notification of that. There's always a (time) difference between actually making the decision and writing it down ('air tight', as rumors called it) and make it official/publication...

to shift gears slightly...

i spent many hours in the last 3 days attending an unfortunate family member in the hospital. i stared at many types of iv bags..including plasma. they all were explicitly stamped, 'no dehp'. out of curiosity, i asked a surprised attending physician if that's the norm. he answered, 'in this hospital so it seems but i've seen dehp-containing bags still in use'

this story is consistent with my earlier inquiries and perhaps shines a reality light as to why ashenden wasn't heard.

Sorry to hear about your family member. I wish there was a "thanks" button - interesting information.

I apologize if the topic already been up, but more than 1000 comments are a bit to much to go through.
I just have a question about the case.
Unless Contador gets acquitted he will lose a lot of results from 2010 and 2011, and I´ve heard rumors this should/could most likely cost him quite a lot of money, in the area of $100 million?
To me this amount sounds insane if it´s true, so I would appreciate if someone with bigger knowledge perhaps could explain (or refute) how this number is possible.

And to Python, I hope your family member are ok.
