This is part of the unintended consequences of building a myth. Crazies latch onto them and cross all kinds of boundaries that should never have been breached. Hopefully, if some of this is getting back to Wiesel and Co., they are just passing the crazies onto law enforcement.

I genuinely hope it is just one-off crazies. Otherwise, the whole thing goes down a much, much darker path.

I'd be very much surprised if it was. It's probably some misguided 30 yrs old guy hunched over his PC, living with his mom. Threats like that to the leader of an organization with a clear mandate like USADA is bound to backfire. Wonderboy knows that. He may be a lot of things but he isn't stoopid.

Unfortunately your Longo comment hits a bit close to home and admittedly doesn't give a lot of credibility to the French attitude. Maybe (though personally I doubt it) the Longo file isn't closed yet. Or maybe legally they couldn't adequately tie in her hubbie's drug purchases to her personal consumption - after all some proof is required. I am not making excuses, as I am a confirmed critic of Longo's doped up charade.

With what I am seeing, I am very disappointed in the American Public (of which I am also a member). There is way to much "head-in-the-sand" thing going on with Lance fans. "Free Lance" seems to be the latest redneck battle-cry. I also can't believe how stupid the commentors are on the Fox News website.

At this point, too many people seem to be so latched onto Lance that it doesn't matter what comes out, they will fight for him "to the death".
I hope I am wrong, but not encouraged by what I see. It's always: attack the messenger, attack the messenger, attack the messenger.

Concern enough that USADA's charging letter to Armstrong and other co-spirators was significantly lacking in specific details about the witnesses (which they acknowledged, but explained as protecting the witnesses from intimidation) that they took quite a bit of flack from both Judge Sparks and the media/public.

They must have expected this, but still believed it was a necessary risk in order to preserve witness identities from being 100% confirmed, and prematurely exposing them to harassment and intimidation from a multitude of sources.

Tygart speaks of the 6 EPO positive samples from '99 as evidence. That isn't going to shock anyone one time much less 30. The story has been around since 2005. He better have much more than that and testimony from the same old people we've been hearing about. The UCI coverup is a dead end. If its half of the old USPS riders talking then its another story.

You're not the only one! It's obvious that Lance still has enormous public support. Even though a lot of his fans admit that he "probably" doped, they are comfortable with his constant lies and denials. Folks just want the myth to continue, or should I say the farce to continue. This makes for a classic study in PR psychology, as the professors would say.
