It will be good to finally read it, but i guess we know most of it already.

According to L'Equipe, the information contained in the files will be made public "before the end of the year", and that their impact on public opinion of the former seven-times Tour de France winner and cancer survivor will be "terrible, 30 times greater than everything that has come out until now, through books or investigations."

<snip> thank you for the summary

Does it say anything about when the witnesses will be sanctioned? I hope this happens at the end of the month too. Tygart has stated they will be reduced for cooperation, hopefully this will have them all back for the start of next season but only if they act now. I guess it means CVV won't be racing cross as he has suggested if it goes down now.

He says nothing about this timing. I would expect it is dependant on the evolution of all the cases. Maybe he just can't or doesn't want to discuss this in any detail.

Why would USADA question why Bruyneel chose to go to arbitration? Isn't that what they were after - to present the evidence in front of the review panel?

I'm guessing they are waiting for the end of the season.

That's the stand-out quote right there. 30 times greater than what we know now?

28 million >> 500 >> 30

So cool that such a small number could potentially destory the power of much larger numbers.

In fact it is said that Tygart hopes the information will me made public by the end of the year. It doesn't make clear if this would be through other public hearings (Bruyneel) or through a disclosure document.

Si le dossier à charge qui a dégouté Armstrong est rendu public en fin d'année - ce qu'il semble espérer - la déflagration s'annonce terrible.

The key words are "si" (if) and "espérer" (hope).

Not to change the current line of thought, but I just saw the bit about the USADA dude getting death threats. Man would I love to be a computer forensics guy, or something along that line and be able to link the threats to a specific computer/person.

Tyler's book was a sneak preview after all...the entire interview, regardless of the content, shows how well usada was prepared to absorb attacks including the pr and political pressure.

off to pick it up at lunch.

Yes, but I told you guys that months ago :D

The key point is the evidence is "terrible, 30 times greater than everything that has come out until now, through books or investigations."

He and Johan are in serious trouble

30 Times worse? And I thought what I read in The Secret Race was pretty downright shocking to begin with. Not as much the doping (although the effort they put into it was quite shocking), but rather the very sobering depiction of a very nasty personality (I'll stop short of calling Armstrong a sociopath, although he I think he might just fit the bill).

Regards
GJ

Could it be, and this is just speculation, that the UCI had total control over everything. Even allowing the doping so that they could, at whim, create a positive on whoever they wanted, thus controlling everyone, even the winners of the races (e.g. Floyd at tour 2006, Contadar, Hamilton etc. etc...).

Paul Kimmage tweeted that Hein said: "'J'ai les moyens de vous faire un coureur positif quand je veux...'"

I know this was already mentioned on the forum (http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showpost.php?p=1031754&postcount=203), but could we be seeing a completly rotten system, where if you don't play by the rules, you will be exposed as a cheat and given a positive result in a drug test?

Do we actually believe the death friends are from the inner circle? Sounds more like crazy fans.

Likely from fans.....but it was not only death threats. Digging for dirt is a long time wonderboy strategy

And people wonder why some would prefer to remain anonymous. There are a lot of freaks out there

Death threats are not threats that you’re going to be killed. They are threats to intimidate. For you to back away from what you’re doing. Several people have been under surveillance, had their email hacked and so on. It’s all very real and well known. This is not part-time, sometime doping in a race in Europe. This is an international operation of drug trafficking and fraud. There’s a lot of people who don’t want this going any further. The FBI and the government are well in what’s going on. They’re watching the watchers. The Livestrong brigade are fanatical but they’re not hitmen.

I think you're being a little tame on what's been going on...

Transcript of Travis Tygart’s interview with L’Équipe thanks to José Been (@TourDeJose).

I liked this part:

"He (Bruyneel) will be heard before the end of this year. The hearing will be public. Lance Armstrong may be called upon to tesify, under oath. Like all the others. In that game there is no safety net. If he lies under oath, it’s serious."

Johann may be my hero, yet.

You just know Lance won't pay attention to his attorneys. And, we know how he loves to show off for a deposition.

Dave.

What was the quote from Tyler's book... about some renovation to Lance's apartment in Nice or something really important like that...

Oh, yeah, there it is:

"F****n French"

30 times worse?
Then I would not be surpriced if the sourcing of meds would be involved. The rumors heard of nurses diluting EPO and selling the good stuff to cycling reps. And the HemAssist rumor, if that were to be proven true... It would explain more than open new questions perhaps.
